Brexit update
The Withdrawal Agreement is expected to be voted on by the House of Commons for a third time

Brexit update

Yesterday evening the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, confirmed that EU leaders have offered to delay Brexit beyond 29 March 2019. If MPs approve the Withdrawal Agreement, an extension until 22 May 2019 will be granted. If the House of Commons does not approve the Withdrawal Agreement, the extension will be shorter, until 12 April 2019.

The Prime Minister is expected to put her Withdrawal Agreement to the House of Commons for a third time next week. In a statement Theresa May said if MPs reject the Withdrawal Agreement again the UK may leave the EU without a deal on 12 April 2019 or put forward an alternative plan. An extension beyond 12 April 2019 would involve the UK participating in European Parliamentary elections, which are scheduled for 23-26 May 2019.
