A Brexit Deal at last

I have just re-read my post prior to the referendum and I am glad to say I would not change a word. The deal that Mrs May has produced is far from perfect but I think the right thing is to say "that's the best compromise we can reach and lets get on with it". I am sure that the ending of uncertainty coupled with the vigour and enthusiasm of British entrepreneurs (which I witness daily) will see us through the transition period and into a fine future.

I think a really important task for the Government is to try to bind the wounds of a bad period and perhaps learn a lesson that if they are ever misguided enough to have another referendum (whatever it is about) they would ensure a proper reasoned debate. This is especially important towards young people who were never presented with a reasoned case on either side.

The vote should always have been at least set at 2 thirds and not 51 per cent

Yes.i am a remainer .it was always obvious from day1 that the only deal possible would be a fudge and compromise. So that's where we are. I would rather we stayed in but faux de mieux let's get on with this deal and try to make the process as painless as possible.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts David.? Added to a proper and reasoned debate, I would just add that any referendum should also have an appropriate threshold; for constitutional matters I would suggest that this is probably not 50%.?
