Brenham Crossing Set to Open on Schedule Despite Covid-Related Hurdles

In March 2021, at the intersection of Highway 290 and Chappell Hill Street in the City of Brenham, Baker Katz officially broke ground on a new shopping center.

In February 2022, I’m proud to say the 50-acre, 164k square-foot Brenham Crossing is complete, and most of retailers and restaurants are expected to open their doors within the next two months.?

This development was a significant undertaking years in the making, and none of it would have been possible without the right partners in place. From city officials, general contractors and civil engineers to architects, project managers and superintendents, everyone involved with Brenham Crossing was efficiently in sync.?

While we experienced the same supply chain hurdles as other developments throughout the country, our skilled team, disciplined timeline, creative problem-solving and fortunate timing largely immunized us to most significant increases in materials costs and allowed us to finalize the project on time.?

Being located within the charming small community of Brenham, the project received overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents excited to enjoy the elevated convenience of major retailers, without any negative impact to their historic, idyllic downtown atmosphere.?

With an influx in people permanently moving from urban cities to rural areas like Brenham since 2020, I’m confident that Brenham Crossing—and the restaurants, retailers, and service tenants within the center—will be beneficiaries of strong patronage for years to come.
