You've no doubt heard about?OpenAI's?ChatGPT?over the last few months. ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer) is a conversational SaaS AI chatbot that can be used in language translation and to summarize large chunks of text to give a short summary of an article. It can also generate text responses on any subject when prompted, making it useful as a?#chatbot?for tasks like customer service.
Why does this matter? Because it is most likely to change work in different ways in the future.
Beyond college kids using ChatGPT to cheat on writing assignments, the technology is exciting and the application for HR is worth mentioning.
Take a look at the attached response from ChatGPT when asked to "create an incentive plan for my pirate ship."
This is one use case, and although a silly, it proves the point that there are others that exist such as ChatGPT's ability to:
?? Write HR policies for you.
?? Write job descriptions for you.
?? In recruiting, read and evaluate content to help TA teams more quickly and fairly evaluate a large group of applicants to reach top talent more quickly.

?? Resolve queries for employees also reduces the expense, time, and effort needed to maintain employee engagement.
?? Offer useful insights that will help you better understand your staff.
?? Provide predictive analyses and recommend steps to prevent undesirable circumstances.
?? Assist you in understanding employee leave, attendance, and break trends and alert you to any employees who may be?#quietquitting, or send a signal to the manager that the employee might be going through a mental health issue and the manager should step in before it worse
?? Analyze the impact of short-term pay practices on the long-term business (comp & pay equity)
?? Automatically update HR policies with the ever-changing HR laws
While ChatGPT and other AI tools have the potential to free up HR staff from boring writing or data tasks that eat up much of their workday, we will still need HR professionals to handle the strategic work and teams should be looking inward right now to determine if this will be part of their future strategy.
