Breast Cancer Awareness
This post is for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to breastcancer.org, one in eight women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer at some point in their lifetime.? However, this type of cancer is considered one of the most curable cancers if caught early.?
?I am a cancer thriver! In April 2023, after a routine mammogram and subsequent biopsy, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Last year I underwent 4 surgeries including a double mastectomy and reconstruction. I’m thrilled to say that I’m cancer free!? This picture was taken last week, with one of my angels, Dr. Philip Torina from Mount Sinai Hospital.? He is one the most skilled, caring, and emphatic physicians I have ever encountered and was instrumental in my healing.?
I am also grateful that I have been able to counsel others who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.?
