Breakthrough Performance: Group14 & Molicel Present the P50B Cell at AABC
Enabled by SCC55?, Molicel's P50B silicon battery more than doubles the power density and halves the charge time of traditional cylindrical batteries.
At this year’s Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) Europe, Group14 CTO & Co-Founder Rick Costantino joined our partner and customer E-One Moli Energy for a panel discussion, where we had the chance to promote Molicel’s new P50B silicon battery cells, enabled by Group14’s SCC55? technology.
“Thanks to Group14’s SCC55?, Molicel’s P50B cells can have a similar life cycle range to iron-phosphate batteries, but with double the power density and half the charge times of the best cylindrical lithium-ion batteries on the market today,” commented Dr. Lester Yeh, head of Research & Development at Molicel. “Group14’s SCC55? silicon battery material has enabled our latest ultra-high performance P-Series battery cells.”
Molicel’s commercially available P50B battery cells deliver transformational performance improvements that represent the full potential of today’s state-of-the-art cylindrical rechargeable battery. Group14 is proud to partner with battery industry leaders like Molicel to help push the boundaries of performance for mobility applications in EVs, eVTOLs, and more. Learn More
Group14 Joins EU Commissioner and German Officials to Further the Net-Zero Industry Discussion
After attending AABC, Dr. Costantino joined EU Commissioner Thierry Breton, German government officials, and local leaders for a panel discussion on the region’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the European manufacturing capacity for net-zero technologies. Group14 is committed to helping achieve the EU’s net-zero industry and technology targets by securing local access to key silicon battery materials and bringing high-quality job opportunities to the region. With local, state, and federal partners, we are working to strengthen the local manufacturing landscape and cut a clear path to global decarbonization.
