Breaking Norms, One Step at a Time – From Matching Socks to Tattoos

The "matching sock" rule feels like a relic of another time—kind of like the way tattoos were once viewed. Not too long ago, tattoos were seen as rebellious, even taboo. Now? About 26% of Americans proudly sport at least one, up from 21% in 2012, according to Statista

This inking shift shows how quickly cultural norms evolve. What once symbolized defiance body art now signifies individuality, creativity, and even professionalism. Could mismatched socks follow the same path?

Let’s challenge the little norms—and the big ones too. What’s your take? Are there other folkways, mores and expectations you think are ready for overhauling? Drop your thoughts below! ??
