BREAKING NEWS: TikTok Announces New Partnership with Linktree

Hello marketers and business owners.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are ready to smash the week ahead! A big thank you to all that attended Be More Social’s quarterly planning event, SocialHub, last Friday. I hope you took away value from both myself and the legendary Marcus Sheridan.?

Let’s get the ball rolling and dive right into this week's updates!

1. TikTok Launches New Mental Health Support Resources for World Mental Health Day

TikTok presented a summary of its expanding mental health support features in honour of World Mental Health Day, as well as fresh data on how individuals feel about mental health issues and the support resources that are available to them. In addition to its current resources for wellbeing, TikTok has introduced a new initiative called "Mental Well-Being Comes First," which aims to promote mental health awareness via specialised in-app programming and tools. Because there are still some unsettling stigmas around mental health issues, TikTok is eager to offer more support whenever it can to help spark the dialogue and connect more individuals with the resources they need. TikTok must make mental health a priority given its growing popularity, especially in light of the challenges that creators frequently face and the damaging consequences of online comments. A great step in the right direction!

2. Twitter Launches Initial Test of Audio Chats

With the launch of a new test that will allow Communities admins to establish specific audio Spaces within their groups, Twitter is seeking to further improve smaller community interaction in the app. Enhanced discovery is the key benefit of this approach. You join groups that are focused on topics in which you have an interest, so the audio chats you will see in the app will also be more in line with your interests. If it gains traction, this could develop into a powerful engagement feature for the app, particularly for small businesses and creators.

3. Instagram’s Working On New ‘Achievement’ Badges For Reels Creators

According to Paluzzi's most recent research , Instagram is currently creating a new function for Reels dubbed "Achievements." As you can see in the example, your Reels options may soon include a new "Achievements" section that would show various badges depending on how well your Reel performed. The idea seems to be that those achievements would only be visible to you, serving as a motivating factor to encourage creators to post more Reels more frequently. They might also be considered as part of its Reels Play Bonus programme, which pays creators based on how well their Reels perform. As it strives to ward off competition from TikTok, Instagram is determined to make Reels flourish. This is just one more side of the larger battle for users' attention between the two platforms.

4. TikTok Announces New Partnership with Linktree

In order to increase referral traffic from the app, TikTok has announced a new partnership with Linktree that will provide creators with more options for referral links that are seamlessly incorporated into their TikTok profiles. In order to provide profile visitors more avenues to connect, TikTok creators have always had the option of including Linktree links in their bios. However, this new integration will improve the experience even more and make it simpler than ever before to connect the two platforms. This is the perfect opportunity for creators and businesses to drive traffic to external locations of their choosing.

5. Twitter’s Testing Restricted Mentions in the App

Twitter is working on a new option that will let you limit who can mention your handle. The new option, which Twitter is actively experimenting with, would allow you greater control over how people can interact with your tweets, as you can see in this example shared by app researcher Jane Manchun Wong . More control choices help alleviate worry while also giving users more ways to block individuals who try to stir up trouble in the app. For users wanting to control their own Twitter experience, this can only be considered beneficial.
