Let’s dive right into it.
1# Musk Takes Control Of Twitter
With Musk's $44 billion acquisition of the firm finally closing late on Thursday night, the Elon Musk era at Twitter has officially begun. Musk got to work right away, dismissing numerous key executives, including the platform's CEO, CFO, and head of legal policy, trust, and safety. Given Musk's prior criticisms of Twitter's executive team, these actions weren't surprising, and it's unlikely they'll be the last. According to rumours circulating, Musk plans to cut up to three-quarters of Twitter's present workforce in order to reduce costs and refocus the app. It's still early to predict how Musk may change the app. Musk's intentions, which include increasing subscriptions, offering multiple algorithms for a more personalised experience, and enhancing the app's data targeting for ads and other content, have been outlined in basic terms. 2# Twitter Adds New ‘Communities’ Module
A new Spotlight feature for Professional Profiles has been launched by Twitter, allowing professional accounts to showcase a Twitter community on their main profile display. Twitter is yet to publish any community insights so currently, we can only rely on subjective observations. At present, all you need to know is what kind of engagement you’re seeing in your communities, and whether that’s helping to shift the needle for your business.

3# LinkedIn Reports Record Engagement
This is fortunate for LinkedIn, as in-app activity has been rising steadily. However, there is no concrete data provided, making it impossible to determine what exactly a "record engagement" implies. In any case, the lack of contextual signals that would highlight LinkedIn's performance makes it challenging to really examine what the usage figures represent. Although it is also important to note that Microsoft has declared "record levels" of engagement growth for now 16 straight quarters, which somewhat waters down the significance, LinkedIn has clearly been able to maintain a balance to keep users satisfied thus far. It'd be interesting to see the actual facts and figures behind these claims.
4# Twitter’s Blue Tick Subscription
Musk is really taking centre stage this week with endless rumours of ludacris updates. According to a new report from The Verge, Elon Musk’s first directive to the Twitter dev team has been to create a new tier for Twitter Blue which enables users to essentially buy a blue tick, for £19.99 per month. According to reports, Musk has also contemplated charging users who currently have a blue tick a subscription fee to keep it. Whilst? I don't believe many people will purchase, a blue tick does have some status within the app and does provide you with some further credibility. However, the actual app usage experience is mostly unaltered. The infamous blue tick might lose its true value if it can be purchased rather than awarded.
