Breaking New Ground in HVACR Efficiency: Our 15-Month Partnership with a Leading U.S. National Laboratory

As global demand for energy-efficient solutions continues to rise, we are excited to announce the start of a groundbreaking 15-month Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with a prestigious U.S. national laboratory. Our mission? To develop a more durable and energy-efficient heat pump that directly addresses a critical but often overlooked challenge in HVACR cooling systems and units: condenser coil fouling.

### Understanding the Challenge: Coil Fouling

Condenser coil fouling is a common issue that occurs when dust and debris accumulate on the condenser coils of HVACR cooling apparatus --- refrigeration, AC and even air source heat pumps. This buildup can significantly reduce heat exchange efficiency, leading to higher energy consumption (averaging probably ~25%), increased operational costs, and more frequent maintenance. Despite its impact, coil fouling has remained a largely unaddressed issue.

We hope that our COILSCRUB program can remediate this problem by using air pre-cleaning technology to remove dust/debris from the incoming airflow entering the condenser coil enclosure that's intended to promote the heat transfer needed by the apparatus. We hope to eventually license this patented approach to HVACR cooling apparatus manufacturers. Stay tuned for updates here on LinkedIn as well as X.com!
