Breaking a Habit

As a follow up to my last post {Viral}, I feel like sharing about a change that's happened over the last 60-80 days.
A habit that I developed over the 26 years of my professional career which was very sticky to me was to have my breakfast every day between 7:30-8:30 am irrespective of the day of the week.
Looking back, I would attribute that habit to a couple of points:
· I am an early morning person so 7:30 was a good 2.5 hours post waking up, so I believed that was the right breakfast time.
· Over the continued 26 years of active travel which involved staying at hotels in various cities, the buffet breakfast is an early morning affair and I succumbed to it.
A Few positives and not of this habit:
· Breakfast in a hotel is always served early (and fresh too!) in the morning, so I was having fresh food.
· When you travel in a group, not all folks like to have an early breakfast, while I never insisted on others joining me some people forcibly (could make out) came early.
· When on the road even during a holiday, folks and family who travelled with me would always say let’s find a restaurant soon for him as he likes to eat early.
· I sometimes would have a bad/grumpy mood if I did not have my breakfast early. (it had nothing to do with my stomach being hungry but due to the fact that it was a #habit)
How did this habit break over the last 60-80 days ?
- One fine morning, the breakfast at home was ready at my time. As I approached the dining table, it just occurred to me why not test and figure out if I can have my breakfast a little later as I did not have to drive to work. I got engrossed with my work and some 90 minutes later I felt hungry.
- I continued this for a few days and realized that I am now able to understand when my stomach is hungry for breakfast and eat when I am hungry.
- Thanks to this I am slowly able to lean towards intermittent fasting since I have longer fasting cycles between two meals.

4 年When you follow intermittent fasting the best option is to eat BF around 10 AM and last meal around 6 PM. Basically go back to what our elders said...BF like king , lunch is normal and dinner is frugal...
