Breaking Free….
Are you a prisoner? Do you feel trapped and confined by the conditions in which you live? The irony is that even in a relatively free environment, humans remain stubbornly trapped in the bubble of their own perception. We might not be constrained by chains and iron bars and the walls of a prison cell, but we are subtly bound by our thoughts and feelings and live each moment without any sense of what lies beyond the boundary of our personal goldfish bowls. Let’s make a break for freedom and see how much better our lives can be outside of the walls of our prisons.
The sense of isolation that degrades the quality of so many people’s lives today is partly due to the way we exist within the confines of a very limited sphere of perception. It can resemble the vast expanse of an infinite cosmos but that’s just a trick of the mind. The paradox is that no matter how quickly we approach the boundaries of our perception, the bubble remains constantly at the same distance. The reality we have been conditioned to accept persists. But is there more to reality beyond the convincing horizon of our sphere of perception? If you’re familiar with the conclusions of countless mystics and philosophical explorers, the answer is a resounding yes.
First, we must learn to turn off the mental generator that projects the illusions. In the ensuing stillness, where no thoughts arise to disturb the silence, the bubble of perception dissolves. In this state, there is nothing to fear nor delusions to disturb the oasis of calm. The blissful peace that dwells within this state reveals our natural condition, free from the waves and eddies of chaotic mental and emotional energy. If you’re seeking the freedom that awaits all sentient beings, this is where it is waiting to be discovered. It is not a question of acquiring anything new or becoming something or someone different. It is what remains when all the layers of delusion melt away. It is the purest diamond of realisation.
