A Guide for Entrepreneurs (That Feel Stuck)
You’re not alone?
I’ve spoken to hundreds of entrepreneurs in the past few years who struggle with “business anxiety”?and feel stuck.
These entrepreneurs don’t meet any criteria for a mental health diagnosis. They only feel nervous and anxious when it comes to managing their business.?
What qualifies me to know this??
I am not just a coach, I am licensed to provide psychotherapy, which means I can diagnose and treat mental health disorders.?
When entreprenuers find out what I do, they usually feel comfortable to open up to me.?
I’ve met some extremely talented professionals over the years at networking events, at conferences, when I leave the stage after speaking, at the end of a workshop, and in my messages on social media.?
I’m talking about professionals who have college degrees, certifications, and years of experience in their field.?They feel stuck because of anxiety.
Sometimes they say, they have all the things in place, EIN, business bank account, business credit cards, social media, and website, and they’ve paid for all kinds of software, programs, and business academies.?
And guess what, some even had celebrity business coaches or joined $25K masterminds (yes they invested $25,000) and still weren’t able to move the needle on their business, because of insecurities, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome.?This is when they come to me as a last resort to help them conquer their fears in business.
Their issue isn’t a lack of intelligence or experience in their field, their issue is mindset. Their inability to see beyond limiting beliefs, learned behaviors, and social conditioning needed to be addressed. Sometimes, they felt embarrassment and shame talking about their feelings in these business communities or with these coaches.?
So even though mindset is mentioned, they never really went deeper and if you share your true feelings they are minimized or dismissed.?
Some entrepreneurs are dealing with beliefs that are hard to release.?
Did your family raise you to think entrepreneurs are scammers? Did you learn that acquiring wealth is greedy? Or it’s only for rich people?
Maybe you’re the first entrepreneur in the family, so you don’t have a model.
Or do your current circumstances make success seem impossible?
Are you an aspiring entrepreneur stuck in the relentless grip of the business anxiety cycle? You're not alone.?
Many service-based entrepreneurs with online businesses find themselves trapped in this seemingly endless loop, unable to move forward with their ventures. But there is a way out.
Understanding the Business Anxiety Cycle
The business launch phase is like planning a wedding and the startup phase is like being engaged, it’s super exciting, it feels amazing, but the actual wedding day and marriage make you nervous, so you plan the wedding for 1, 2, 3 years because it has to be “perfect” and you want everyone to love it.?
Have you ever had a great idea, but every time you start, you never finish? Or maybe you never even get started.
I can recall several clients who had lots of amazing ideas, that they never implemented. When one idea doesn’t work out as planned or when they get nervous they come up with another idea.?
I can relate. Think about it coming up with great ideas feels good. It feels good to get positive feedback on how smart, creative, and ingenuitive you are. It doesn’t feel good when those ideas don’t play out the way you hoped when the goal isn’t met, or when you fail and get negative feedback.?
The business anxiety cycle is a vicious cycle that keeps entrepreneurs stuck in the startup phase of their businesses.?
It typically starts with feelings of overwhelm and self-doubt, often triggered by the fear of failure or the pressure to succeed. These negative emotions can lead to procrastination and avoidance, as entrepreneurs struggle to take action on their goals.?

As a result, they become trapped in a state of paralysis, unable to make progress or move their businesses forward.
But the cycle doesn't end there. As time passes and the pressure mounts, entrepreneurs may experience increased levels of stress and anxiety, further exacerbating their feelings of overwhelm and self-doubt. This, in turn, leads to more procrastination and avoidance, creating a self-perpetuating cycle of negativity and stagnation.
