Breaking Down Brand Messaging

Breaking Down Brand Messaging

If you're familiar with the StoryBrand framework, the concept of a clear message is nothing new. It’s an approach that positions your reader as the hero and your company as the guide. Instead of talking about an illustrious career or a multitude of product features, you remind the reader that you exist to solve their biggest problem.

The problem is tackling the task of creating a clear message is hard when you are also the expert.

When you know everything about your business, it often comes with something Lee Lefever refers to as the curse of knowledge.

It's the equivalent of trying to read the label from inside the bottle.

The antidote? Step (temporarily) back into the hero seat and let someone else serve as the guide to clear up your brand’s message.

The result? A crystal clear brand message that resonates with your ideal customer (like, the customer you wish you could clone a hundred times over).

This week’s marketing tips:

- Read Building a StoryBrand or watch the online course with a free trial of Business Made Simple University.

- Walk through this process with a peer not directly inside your organization

- Or, save loads of time and knock the entire process out in 90 minutes with me.

P.S: If you’ve already read Building a StoryBrand or taken the online course, I’d love to know what you thought??
