Breaking the Cycle – The Power of Different Perspectives

We live in a world of around seven billion different perspectives. They create the world. Integrating all of them is complex since we only see a tiny part of these ourselves.
We need all of them, though; we need people creating awareness about topics, we need people changing systems from the inside and from the outside. We need all of it, we need to integrate to impact the whole.
How can we do that, though?
I believe we can only control what we have under our control ourselves; ok, control is an illusion. Let’s say influence. Thus, I can influence how to react to situations, how to react in interactions and so forth. I believe the most we can see and integrate and expand our own perspective is in seeing the world through love and compassion. If we believe everybody does its best at this very moment and we meet them with compassion, we can support each other in going the next step, in integrating another perspective to expand the own with connection. Behavior is never fully defining a person and its deep desire and intentions. As we know, we are all human beings and not linear in our process. Some of us have a headache when they enter the subway and didn’t see the old lady looking for a seat; others had a fight with their best friend right before they bump into us with a grumpy face on the street. Others just lost their aunt when we see them for the first time at a dinner party. We feel anger, tiredness, frustration, love, happiness… we feel, we get triggered in all ways. We get more triggered when we feel in a state of hurt, anger and so on. How would we know when we see each other for the first time on the street?
Our society's awareness and consciousness level is rising. We cannot change the world over night but if 20% of our society are touched, I believe we can reach a tipping point to make a big positive impact.
We know how impact works now; Covid-19 taught us, Covid-19, in fact, taught the world. One challenge, different approaches around the globe. We see different kind of realities and perspectives; we see different kind of countries acting differently and we see the individual actions and responsibility taken to take care of the people around us. This is possible when we feel love for others and above all for ourselves first.
When we feel frustration and anger, our actions have equal impact. We cannot judge and expect positive change. We cannot blame and expect change. We cannot fight and expect peace. Darkness does not shine bright.
Acting out of love, creates logic and understanding. Acting out of compassion, creates connection. Acting out of a peace of mind, creates calmness. Acting out of inclusion and integration, creates a dialogue and a community. Acting out of connection, creates purpose. Acting out of a vision, creates a new reality.

4 年Nice, Tine! Thank you for writing this piece. It so resonates with the work I do with "Language of Spaces", which ultimately is about learning to differentiation, learn about, transcend and then include different perspectives. This lays out the foundation for Self-Realization (some call it Individuation), Inner Leadership and Purpose Alignment. All together holds the potential for us to increase our capacity to live our authentic love and authentic power to express our purpose - that what wants to manifest in the world through us.
