Breaking the bias to build equity
Today we are commemorating International Women Day — a day dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women, raising awareness against bias, and, crucially, taking action for equity every day.
At Diageo we are committed to creating the most inclusive and diverse culture, as well as developing market-leading policies and practices, because it is the right thing to do and helps our business grow, under this framework.
I personally believe that it’s time to understand that equity isn’t a leadership issue; it’s a leadership opportunity, as individuals we have the unique opportunity to take action and spearhead change.
International Women’s Day may be one day, but should embedded as a commitment every day, so I challenge each one of you, regardless of the gender or the position you hold, to commit to one action to advance equity: in your workplace, with your friends and family, with partners, consumers and customers. It can be as small as listening, or as big as challenging our company policies, but even small changes pave the way for a better tomorrow.
Let’s continue creating an inclusive culture where we can be the best versions of ourselves, using our empowerment to offer a safe and comfortable space for everyone at Diageo CCA.
