Breaking Barriers: Overcoming Agent Resistance to Outsourcing in Real Estate
Tactical Business Solutions
Your premium outsourcing solutions provider for growing businesses.
You might be part of the larger group who believes this, but I’ll say it anyway.
Outsourcing for real estate agents or agencies is hard to manage… since these Virtual Assistants are usually thousands of miles away. Which makes them a more pain in the ass, rather than lending one a hand.
12.7% of full-time employees work from home. By 2025, 32.6 million Americans will work remotely. You might as well accuse this lot for not doing their jobs efficiently.
Telling Virtual Assistants to work onsite, so might as well call them “Onsite Assistants” or if it makes you more comfortable, to work near you, because it makes them more reliable and trustworthy is like telling American Express who took advantage of remote work & ranked #10 on Fortune’s 2023 World's Most Admired Companies list is absurd.
Then the same might be said for Appen—a company who rely on remote work because they have projects in over 80 countries and on 150 languages. Its standing as a global leader in the development of high-quality, human annotated datasets for machines and artificial intelligence is considered irrelevant.
Heck, I bet it’s not even about that.
Because you know, and everyone does, having to invest on Outsourcing to avail their services means cost in your pocket.
And here’s the reality of it. Prepare to swallow.
The larger group you are part of actually needs help. Otherwise, we won’t even exist. And then you will not be here—still reading this.
Contrary to your belief, most outsourcing work will be cheaper than hiring your own permanent staff.
It’s cost-effective because?it lowers overhead expenses like training programs, office supplies, and other similar expenses. While outsourcing handles the most part, if not all of your need, companies like you then have time to invest in areas of their?business that are more profitable. It’s more than a win win for you.
And that’s a real ROI right there.
Oh and don’t worry, this is not called abuse. It’s what they do.
Now, I know that might put pressure on me since it’s what I do in outsourcing.
We provide variety of services.
But that’s the thing…
We can only do so much for you. Whether we send out text notifications or email campaigns and follow-ups.
Setting your mindset Outsourcing can’t help you, you put yourself in a restrained position and eventually, may fail you.
But let’s say you let us help you and only to an extent. But it did work.
Who's to say we will be successful the next time around?
So, in the end… this is where it comes down to.
Whether we like to admit it or not, we can only help you, if YOU LET US.
The success is there for your taking.
Not on us alone, as this is a two-way street.
And I know it’s hard to put your trust to people you don’t know or miles away from you.
Not only that, to take chance by means of spending.
So it’s much easier to not take the help.
Especially if you believe you alone can do it. Or perhaps you worry more about it not bearing fruit.
I understand you completely. I felt the same way pursuing people part of your group.
Getting rejections or not even seen by most, so it’s easier to give up.
So yes, I do understand.
Which is why I’m writing this.
Because more often than not, Outsourcing is not one’s first choice, rather a last resort because of many reasons.
Let me give you three.
The first one is you’re not in control.
One day, I came across someone in one of the group chats I joined in Facebook, who posted saying: Help needed on Lead Generation, taking care of CRMs, etc. There are more individuals posting almost the same thing.
The sad part is—I noticed most are just throwing their names randomly.
Sure, it broadens your option but consumes your time.
When in fact, all you have to do to get yourself the help you need is remind yourself what problems you have and find someone who will resolve that for you.
It is actually your choice.
It’s simple if you think about it but rarely done. Because you to tend to be overwhelmed of the many options in front of you. Rather than focus in one.
Second one is how you position yourself.
Say you own a startup business, and you wanted to get an Outsourcing team who can find a Virtual Assistant whose niche is focused on business development.
Which of the two Virtual Assistant would you choose?
The one who says…
Virtual Assistant #1: I speak English fluently and work with minimal supervision. I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and 5 years work experience.
Or the one who focuses on what they can help you with?

Virtual Assistant #2: I help Business Owners like you by focusing on key areas that influence the growth of the business such as market research and analysis, strategic partnerships, business planning and strategy development, sales and marketing support and product and service development.
As a Business Owner, which one will you get?
It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it?
This is what an effective positioning does.
You lay out what you need, and help will follow.
If you don’t know what to look for, calling for help, even with us, will look like you are getting stuck in the middle of the ocean, keep shouting at the top of your voice, but no help came.
Remember finding the right Outsourcing team would mean finding the right Virtual Assistants to get things done.
And in a sea of Virtual Assistants where everyone calls themselves by the skill they have (e.g. I’m a business development manager), doing this will make you stand out like a sore thumb.
Speaking of VALUE…
The third reason is that most don’t even know the VALUE we provide our clients.
This is a biggie.
Let’s go back to your assumptions, or should I say, myths your larger group believe in.
“Only large businesses benefit from Outsourcing Virtual Assistants.”
“It’s challenging to work with Virtual Assistants.”
“Virtual Assistant services are costly.”
They aren’t that bad but not also facts.
While those are debatable, that’s not really the VALUE we provide our clients.
Take real estate agents for example.
Why do they consider outsourcing?
Is it to be able to meet the demands of their clients?
But why would they want to meet their demands?
Is it to get their commission?
But why would they want to get commission?
We could go on and on about this, but the bottom line is they want more clients. More clients mean more revenue, and revenue can make expansion happen.
Yet most real estate agents, when talking about Outsourcing or Virtual Assistants, focus on the other side—myths and assumptions.
How will they know what results we can give them when we ourselves don’t know exactly the value Outsourcing services provide?
Listen…
I know how fearful it is to give Virtual Assistant a chance to help, to invest in something and spare time to explain your needs and set the tone, only for it to go to waste.
But as I've learned from years of outsourcing failure...
It’s not my skillset.
It’s not my experience.
It’s not my portfolio as Virtual Assistants.
It’s not the larger group of people believing on these assumptions and myths that’s the problem either.
It’s your ability to admit when you need help, do your own research to know facts, take control to identify what you need in order to find the right Outsourcing that is tailor fitted to you alone. And communicating what we can help you with.
Now, this isn’t a punch aim at you.
In fact, if you’re part of the larger group who is used to doing all things by yourself, regardless of you need help or not, I applaud your drive and courage for raising this standard.
But like the old saying goes…
If we like to change the world, we should start with ourselves first.
Good day.
