In today's dynamic business environment, the journey to executive leadership presents both exhilarating opportunities and formidable challenges. Notably, Leadership Circle's research reveals that female leaders demonstrate more fully developed competencies compared to their male counterparts, particularly in essential skills such as building caring connections, mentoring and developing others, and showing concern for the community.


Managing Work-Life Integration

Managing work-life integration presents a complex challenge, particularly for women in high-level leadership roles. With statistics showing that nearly 43% of highly qualified women leave the workforce voluntarily at some point in their careers, often due to a lack of support for family obligations, it's evident that traditional workplace structures aren't always conducive to the needs of working mothers. However, it's not just maternity leave that poses a challenge. Women also grapple with caregiving responsibilities for aging parents or family members, which can place additional strain on their time and energy. Beyond flexible work arrangements and remote options, which are essential but often insufficient, addressing the systemic barriers that working women face is paramount. About 61% of women acknowledge the value of focusing on increasing DEI at work, compared to 50% of men. Moreover, larger proportions of women express that it's extremely or very important to them to work at a place that embraces diversity across various dimensions, including gender, race and ethnicity, age, and sexual orientation.
