The 'Breakfast Economy' with Black Tea - Kenya's Golden Asset.

For those among us who embrace commencing the day with a positive outlook and ready for success, that is where Kenya comes in. A stunning East African country situated precisely near the renowned Wakanda village in cinemas—a symbol of human origins known as the cradle of humankind from the historian.

One hidden secret about this land is that it is the only nation that drives the "Breakfast Economy" from its fertile soils at the Aberdare ranges. The gorgeous Rift Valley, lakes and rivers between watering agricultural motherland and birthing the best milk, coffee, and black tea, which is irresistible to some of the world's giant multinationals. Did I forget the Macadamia nut butter and the juicy pineapples? Thanks to Delmonte, one of the most notable pineapple farms.

Regarding your breakfast, there is nothing Kenya can not offer you in any portion.

Growing up on the slopes of the Aberdares ranges facing Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain peak in Africa, black tea was our cash cow, and we had to learn the art of plucking tea leaves at an early age and during all kinds of weather.

The skills passed, one was required to pluck the two top leaves and a bud for the finest quality. There was also a style and figure to keep the rhythm with others alongside you within the bushes or tea plantation. Once you fill your hands with the leaves, we could throw the handful back at your basket until it's packed to the beam.

Depending on how well you have harnessed your skills, you could pluck up to 50 kgs on a good rainy day.

The tea harvesting and business processes involves:

  1. Hand-picking the tea leaves from the farm with tender and care, two leaves and a bud.
  2. Sorting to remove foreign objects or unwanted leaves, weighing at the local buying centre, and transportion to the factory, which at our time used to be done by using The iconic?Bedford ,?lorries or trucks assembled in the United Kingdom. This demonstrated the close ties between the nation's colonial powers then, though today, that may have changed hands to the Japanese automobiles, showcasing the strength of Japanese soft diplomacy prowess.
  3. The Withering process follows a hot air technique modernised today using firewood rather than petroleum or electricity to give the tea the best flavour.
  4. Crushing and fermentation stages follow, where the withered tea leaves turn brown and, at the complete cooking stage, turn black.
  5. The grading stage involves sorting the final product into different flavors, and yes there is diversity even in tea manufacturing.
  6. Packaging -This is the final stage in the factory, where the ready black tea is encased into 50 kg bags prepared for export.
  7. Finally, the ready black tea is repackaged and transported to your kitchen and other markets globally.

A Cup of Tranquility, A Brew for Every Smile.?Keep drinking black tea for a stress-free, smiley day, and remember it needs to be accompanied by milk, sugar, and biscuits, taken best at two critical times: 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
