How often do you find the universe trying to send you a message?
Earlier this year I mentioned to my then-therapist, I felt like I was having a midlife crisis. I feel I've become middle aged during all these lockdowns.
His response was: "Maybe it's a midlife breakthrough instead?"
I hadn't thought much about this until the first episode of Uncertainty Experts My first written note was:
"How you respond to Uncertainty is the difference between breakdown, or breakthrough."
I have always had a strong intolerance to uncertainty. It's the driver of my anxiety and worry. Coupled with an overactive imagination, uncertainty is the thing that holds me back from so much.
The last three Tuesdays have certainly challenged my thinking about my thinking.
Hearing stories, and learning sciency stuff, has given me ways to better approach uncomfortable things.

Understanding that my brain is trying to keep me safe from uncertainty is the first step in my journey.
After all, the only certainty in life - aside from death and taxes - is uncertainty. I can't avoid it. And while I may never embrace it, I can learn to live better with it.
This feels like the start of my breakthrough.

I've recently set myself a challenge to write 200 words a week on something that interests me, or that I've been thinking about. And to publish it here. So here are some musings from me.
