The Qlik Cloud Platform is, in my opinion, one of the right things that any business should adopt strategically today. New Qlik (post acquisition of Talend ) is now so capable that it exists as a leader on three Gartner Magic Quadrants.

What is holding you back?

Knowing where you want to be is a start for any objective. Mustering the will, and resource, to migrate to a platform that can really help make a difference is not without its challenges. In the forms of:

• Investment - Unless the objective is to migrate at the point of renewal then a creative way to help avoiding doubling up on costs is needed. We recognise this, and are here to help.
• Tools - Reporting, Planning, and Management tools are needed and have inertia to change attached to them. Especially existing reporting tools that deliver business critical reports, such as NPrinting. A specific challenge and concern for Qlik users is that NPrinting is not available in cloud - this needs addressing. Qlik reporting services may suffice for some clients, but not all-given the vast capability of NPrinting.Qlik has a set of migration planning tools (apps) to highlight challenges. These are a great head-start.
• Plan - You will need a plan to measure success, define outcomes, and report against milestones of benefits realised. This will require some work to muster stakeholders to understand the benefits that come from cloud; Financial and Operational, including self service. You will need a champion and project manager to ensure that all activities are resourced and not blocked.
• Resources - Deliver it yourself v Deliver with a partner. You may do this once, your partner many times. You need to balance the option of in-house (with resource constraints) and with a partner, an expert that had delivered many migrations already.
• Timing - Given that a migration can take up to three years to deliver for enterprise customers then a hybrid world of co-existence can easily become business as usual for the short term. This will need to be agreed up front with your suppliers to ensure a seamless transition. Smaller projects can be delivered in just a few months. The primary blocker is the need to migrate reports onto a new technology before retiring on-premise solutions.

• Harmony for Qlik - Provides a means to manage your Qlik footprint both on prem and cloud as you migrate and ongoing. Using the Harmony's Qlik Management Platform (QMP) KPIs, you can monitor measure and manage the status of your migration. It includes embedded issue tracking and backlog (KanBan) capability. Further you can provide operational support of all your Qlik estate as well as maintain assets. All in a single 'pane of glass'.
• Symphony for Qlik - Provides orchestration and task-chaining capability, (similar to that of QlikView), only you are not constrained to Qlik. The point is to widen the capability to create task chains that can be centrally controlled (opposed to privately) and call upon all your systems to drive efficient task execution. Complex, cross platform, and Qlik instance workflows can be managed in Symphony for Qlik.
• Self Service Reporting - For clients that adopt ancoreShare we can build a suite of reports with options that can be made available to run (with associated task chains) upon demand.
• Expertise - We can help with migration readiness assessments (using Qlik's tools, above or Harmony for Qlik) and help define a migration plan. This can be extended to a full data strategy where needed. We can then partner with you to deliver on the back of the strategy/plan.
