Break The Chains of Dependency Syndrome - A Message to Malawian President
London Academy Business School
Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice
Your excellence Mr President, IMF is looking for something in your Country. IMF is not a charity organisation, but a business entity for Americans. What is the loan for, sir? Do you really need this loan? Can you not generate the same amount locally? or speak to your brothers in Nigeria and other places? Even ask from the Malawians in the Diaspora. This loan could hold you and your citizen to RANSOME for many years to come, and even future generations will pay part of it.
Please, sir, read the small print carefully before you accept it. My sincere advice is, if you don't really need the loan to generate immediate income, please don't take the loan. If it's to buy cars for staff and to buy gifts for friends and family, please don't take a loan. I am begging you, sir. Our recklessness is too much from the African continent when comes to collecting loans here and there. Instead, sell some mineral resources on your own terms to the IMF to buy from you.
Let us break the 'Chains of Dependency Syndrome'. Don't take loans needlessly. Read a line from John Perkins's book. 88 Million Dollars for such a small country? Sir, consider your move carefully.
