Brazil Resumes Investments in the Naval Industry and Boosts Oil & Gas Exploration ?

The Brazilian naval industry is being revived! This Monday (17), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced the resumption of strategic investments during the presentation of the second bidding round of the Petrobras System’s Fleet Renewal Program, held at the Angra dos Reis Terminal (Tebig) in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

Strengthening of the naval industry with over R$ 10 billion in investments through the Merchant Marine Fund ??

President Lula emphasized Petrobras’ role in Brazil’s growth: ?? "Petrobras belongs to Brazil and is meant to help develop the country. Brazil and Petrobras have proven that we can compete with any engineering in the world."

Petrobras President Magda Chambriard also highlighted the sector’s impact: ?? "We are planning the company’s future through 2029, with more than 10 large-scale platforms, seven of which are already contracted. This revival will drive job creation and strengthen the naval and offshore industries."

?? Efficiency & Sustainability The new gas carriers will be up to 20% more fuel-efficient, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% and being equipped to operate in electrified ports.

?? Opportunities for the Naval Sector The international bidding process for the construction of these vessels is open to shipyards that meet the technical and economic criteria in the tender. Proposals can be submitted within the next 90 days, and the first ship is expected to be delivered within 30 months after the contract is signed.
