Five Characteristics of a Brave Leader


  • Willing to make the tough decisions. Even when people don’t understand or agree.


  • Always the most accountable for their actions. They own it even when things do not go well.


  • Speak the truth to power. They are principled in their leadership.


  • Have uncomfortable conversations. These are never fun but needed.


  • Work themselves out of a job. They are secure enough as a leader that they understand the importance of developing others.


As you think about these characteristics of a brave leader, which would be your weakest and strongest?

The good news is that you can choose to improve each of these characteristics.
