This past Saturday morning, we had the third & final bonus webinar for the Pradeepa Leadership Development School students. The purpose of the school is to help you become a thriving leader and enable significant career growth and higher levels of income.?
One of the topics we explored is the importance of branding. We had a rich discussion, and all the students shared great perspectives and thoughts.?
Here are my perspectives on this topic.?
It is unnecessary to brand and market yourself, find ways to distinguish yourself, outrun or beat your competition, showcase your personality to everyone, or become famously known so people will buy your products or services. In my growth and development journey over the last eight years, I have learned that there is no branding or marketing you can do to get an overnight victory. No 5-step quick fix or a 7-step scheme will bring you instant success. Also, branding has nothing to do with your worth.?
Personal branding is not something you ask a company to do for you. I have tried it, and speaking from the experience of spending thousands of dollars, guess what- it did nothing.?
What I learned since it is all about who I am being and how I show up for myself and the world. I had to understand what I wanted and who I should be to achieve that and ensure my actions supported that.?
The order goes like this. BE--> DO--> HAVE
For example, HERE IS WHAT I WANT TO HAVE: I want to achieve my goal of helping create exceptional and impactful leaders in the world.
HERE IS WHAT I AM DOING: To have that, I took action in actually creating the school. It started with dreaming about the idea of finding a way to teach impactful leadership to more people, act on that dream, put the idea on social media to test the hypothesis, once I got enough interest and acknowledgment, create a curriculum, and brochure content, secure master guest teachers, created video content to introduce them, started posting about the progress being made, started talking to 100's of potential students, brochure finalization, student enrollment, webpage creation to name a few.

But I realized the most important part is who I am "being" through these processes. My being to potential and committed students, my being to those watching my progress and cheering me on these new adventures, and those who don't say anything are the same.?
HERE IS MY BEING: I am enthusiastic, excited, and super committed, helpful, truthful, bringing all my love, care, energy, experience, and my whole self into this journey and the process(which is not always easy as I often am driven by results), irrespective of the progress being made(this is where the rubber hits the road). This is challenging work, and I am so glad my coach helps me through this whenever I deviate, which happens often.?
There is no magical formula for creating a personal brand. Through your way of being and going through the process consistently, you give people an experience of yourself. It is all about how others experience you at any given moment.?
Is my "being" reflected in any conversations I have with anyone regarding the school? Even if they are not joining the school. A few potential students I spoke to who ruled out the school was not for them; volunteered to share the brochure with a few people in their network. They told me they were willing to do this only because of how authentic, honest, energetic, and excited I sounded, even after they said no. They experienced my "being" to them, making them offer to help without hesitation.?
How I show up in the world from the place of my being will drive my actions to get or not get the desired results.?
"You cannot OUTDO your level of Being." Karan Rai?
And my "BEING" is my BRAND!?
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in learning more about the school and its curriculum. The school starts on January 21, 2023. Message me, and we can find a time to have a conversation. There is ONLY ONE spot left for the school.?

1 年Branding oneself is important. Not to outrun or beat anyone but to distinguish yourself and to represent the values you embody and stand for. I believe it is important especially in your career and leadership journey and when you have people looking up to you and following you. When you have your own brand or natural style, there is no competition or anyone outrunning you. It is just you in your race.
