Branding in Pandemic
The world is too dreary a place to be these days. The pandemic has hit all of us hard and we are all in the same boat trying to ensure that it doesn't capsize. In such situations , brands need to instill some sense of goodness and hope.
Mental health can take a heavy toll with so much information flowing in. Rumours or not, too much data and death can be a great depression for people. How can brands help?
- Give your customers something to distract. It could be a post or a product feature which doesn't cost much
- Make them feel part of hope. Music, art , literature are some aspects of helping them cope
- Encourage them to do what they like. If you are a FMCG brand, get your customers to make something out of a specific product. Let them think of ingenious ways to remodel or remake it.
- While rising on the occasion is helpful - it also needs a great innovation to keep the customers engaged. Simple posts can do wonders.
- There is no need to directly allude to the pandemic. Oftentimes, people would not want to hear another story of pandemic. You can keep them from going into those aspects by relating to your brand stories. Think of "Paperboat" stories. They haven't changed their marketing to suit the pandemic. They continue with their memorable posts.
I hope these few tips help you keep your customers safely connected to your brand.
