Much like creating a personal vision board with catchy words, phrases, pictures, and colours, depicting our journey and a plan/vision for the future, a brand vision board also serves as a strategic instrument to articulate your brand's vision, mission, values, and positioning. It should also be a dynamic composition, intertwining images, words, symbols, phrases, and colours meticulously chosen to encapsulate the essence, personality, and aspirations of your brand. A brand vision board can also weave in aspects such as your target audience, competitors, prevailing trends, unique differentiators, and an aspirational goal. The overarching objective is to weave together a compelling visual narrative that authentically mirrors your brand's purpose, direction, and enduring impact.

Steps to create a Brand Vision Board:

Define brand identity:

1.??? Identify core values, mission, and unique selling propositions.

  • This involves pinpointing the fundamental principles and goals that define the brand. E.g., embracing diversity and inclusion, sustainability and eco-friendliness, innovation, social responsibility, etc.

2.??? Determine the brand personality and voice.

  • Consider the personality traits you want your brand to embody. If it's a tech brand aiming for innovation and approachability, the personality might be modern and friendly, as seen with brands like Google.

Gather visual elements:

  • Collect logos, images, colours, and typography that resonate with the brand's identity. You can use cut-outs from magazines, websites, books, pictures, etc, to make it creative and interesting.?

Craft a visual narrative:

  • Arrange the elements in a way that tells a cohesive story about the brand's mission, vision, values, personality, tonality, colors it associates with, official font and typography, competitive landscape, ?target audience, goals, and aspirations (both short-term and long term, etc.

Incorporate inspirational and meaningful words:

  • Add key phrases, taglines, or words that capture the essence of the brand. For e.g, Organic, Vegan, Market Leader, Fun, Responsible, Wellness, etc.

  • Brands evolve, so update the vision board periodically to stay aligned with changing goals. It may be a good idea to revisit once a year to align with changing goals or priorities.
