Brand new fully electric Citroen E-C3 lands at Croxdale!

The fully electric version of the hugely popular Citroen C3 – the award-winning E-C3 – has landed at Croxdale Group Durham.

It’s been an exciting month at Croxdale Group Durham, with the unveiling of the highly anticipated, all-new fully electrified Citroen E-C3.

This is the brand new model of a car that has been a great vehicle for Citroen, becoming the best-selling vehicle in the Citroen range since its launch back in January 2002.

Pre-orders are building up for this exciting new car, ahead of its official showroom debut in late December, for a January launch.

The car has also already won the Auto Express New Car Awards Car of the Year Award for 2024, with the Auto Express describing it as being “exactly what the world needs”.

The judges of the awards added: “Compact, simple and efficient, the new E-C3 is a hugely worthy winner!”

The Citroen C3 has been hugely popular for more than 20 years - but this all new fully electrified version is a totally different car, according to Croxdale Group managing director Anthony Rockingham.

“The E-C3 has been a great addition to our showroom in October, ahead of the official showroom debut in December,” he said.

“It’s a really exciting car – it’s not just had a facelift on the already highly successful Citroen C3, it is a brand-new model altogether.

“The car is going to cater for the full market and we’re very excited that we’ve already got one here to view.”

With a starting price of ￡21,990, the order book for this hugely anticipated city car is growing, thanks in no small part to its comfort and style.

The car benefits from Citroen Advanced Comfort seats and suspension and is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system, with the latest technology and driving aids for your safety, comfort and peace of mind.

Being electric, the zero-emission car helps you do your bit for the environment, whilst enjoying a driving range of up to 199 miles on a full charge and the ability to go from 20% to 80% charged in 26 minutes with a rapid charger.

Standard AC charging from 20% to 80% takes just over four hours.

The car is offered in six body colours, with the striking blue-grey as the standard colour.

Cat Lund, a Citroen Pro-driver attended Croxdale Group Durham to demonstrate the Citroen E-C3 in all its glory when it arrived in the showroom.

She said: “It’s really stylish – the standard colour is called Monte Carlo Blue and it has a white roof which really sets it off, as well as the LED lights. It really is a fabulous looking car.

“It has all this beautiful chevron detail reflective of the Citroen logo in places like the wing arches.

“They have really thought about the heritage and history of the car in the design and detailing.”

Cat adds the car is “styled like an SUV” and has lovely comfortable seats with memory foam.

It also benefits from a heated windscreen, which you can put on before you even get in the car, reducing the need to scrape your windscreen in the winter.

The heated seats and a heated steering wheel also improve the driver experience during the colder months.

“The Citroen E-C3 also has 17-inch alloy wheels and a 44 kilowatt battery giving you a range of 199 miles,” Cat adds.

Upon purchase, Croxdale Group can arrange for a charging point to be installed at your home address.

Customers can use the My Citroen App to charge the car up during the times their household electric supply is operating on the cheapest tariff.

The top of the range Max version benefits from a wireless charger, but all versions have a state-of-the-art infotainment system, that includes DAB radio and three USB ports (4 in the Max).

The Max also has a built-in Sat Nav and all versions can be connected to your smartphone for entertainment and satellite navigation.

The practical and comfortable city car has a strong emphasis on driver convenience and safety.

The car benefits from ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which helps prevent wheel lock-up during emergency braking to maintain control and EBA (Emergency Brake Assist), which boosts braking pressure in emergency situations to reduce stopping distance.

The Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) also optimises brake force between the front and rear wheels (depending on the load) for better control.

Driving the Citroen E-C3 is a breeze with cruise control and a speed limiter, which allows you to set a maximum speed and avoid exceeding speed limits.

Rear Parking Sensors also make parking easier, alerting you to obstacles behind the car, while the Max’s rearview camera assists with reversing by providing a live video feed.

Park Assist automatically helps with parallel parking by taking over the steering, leaving the driver to control speed and gears.

The Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS) offers light steering at lower speeds and firmer control at higher speeds.

The car’s steering is also designed to be responsive and smooth, offering comfort for city driving and confidence on highways.

Cat said: “I believe the quality of this vehicle for the price is amazing.

For those who are not yet ready to make the full switch to electric, a hybrid version of the C3 is also set to launch in 2025.

This new version of the popular Citroen model will include the option of a seven-seater.

This is the first time Citroen has offered this popular model as a seven-seater and the SUV will also be available in all electric, petrol and hybrid models.

The petrol version comes with a 1.2 litre turbo-charged, three-cylinder petrol engine giving it the best torque of any similar car in its class.

Practical and spacious, this more muscular version of the C3 is extremely pleasing to the eye and looks and feels every inch the premium vehicle.

The driver benefits from a higher riding position and even the seven-seater version, which has more space for all passengers and their luggage, does not compromise at all on manoeuvrability.
