Brand New Course: Outdoor First Aid

Introducing Our New Course: Outdoor First Aid

I’ve been playing in the great outdoors since I was 5, and working there since I was 20 (that’s a long time ago now). I’ve rarely had to deal with any serious first aid incidents in the outdoors because, well, prevention is better than cure, right?

I have dealt with a broken collarbone, a number of twisted ankles, an asthma attack, a reasonable burn, some sunburn, and a near hypothermia case or two. Ha, now that I think about it, there have been one or two!

My knowledge and skills in First Aid have developed since I was a small child, and I can tell you, I’ve been glad I’ve had them. Even though none of the incidents I have dealt with were very serious, I was calling on my knowledge in preparation for things getting worse if they did. You can never be too prepared!

Out there in nature, you can have some absolutely breath taking experiences, but to really be able to relax, enjoy, and truly get the most from it, you need to know what to do if something goes wrong. If someone got injured or taken ill out there, would you know what to do?

Why now?

When I started the company in 2014 I was longing to deliver outdoor first aid, it’s my passion. However, our awarding body didn’t offer it then. We waited 10 years for Qualsafe Awards to get this course sorted because we knew it would be great! We had already chosen them for our other courses because they are helpful, professional, and accessible.

Why Outdoor First Aid?

Outdoor activities, while exhilarating, come with their own set of challenges and risks. Whether you’re hiking, camping, or engaging in adventure sports, being prepared for emergencies can make all the difference. Our Outdoor First Aid course is specifically designed to address the unique scenarios you might encounter in the great outdoors.
