Branching Out: Eric Banderas Revitalizes Arborist Connections as Yale Cordage's New Market Manager

Eric Banderas' career in arboriculture began at a small company where he quickly learned the ropes, quite literally. “I learned everything from the ground up to climbing trees within two years. It was very important to learn tree work on the ground level before moving on to climbing,” Eric explains. This foundational experience set the stage for his future endeavors.

For three years, Eric served as a climber for the company, honing his skills and deepening his knowledge. Following this, he started his own tree company, which he ran successfully before deciding to downsize and work as a contract climber with a mini skid steer. A recent move from Oregon to Florida, prompted by his wife’s job transfer, inspired Eric to explore new opportunities, ultimately leading him to Yale Cordage.

A Long-Standing Relationship with Yale Cordage Products

Eric’s familiarity with Yale Cordage products dates back to the beginning of his career. “I have been using Yale ropes for as long as I can remember. The first rope I ever climbed on was a Yale Poison Ivy,” he recalls. This long-standing relationship with our products underscores his deep appreciation for their quality and reliability.

Joining a Leading Brand in Arboriculture

The desire to partner with Yale Cordage is driven by Eric’s desire to work with a top brand in the industry. “Wanting to work with a leading brand in arboriculture and help with product development and growing the company sounded like a good way to still do something I’m passionate about,” he explains. Eric’s enthusiasm for contributing to product development and company growth aligns perfectly with our mission.

Passions Beyond the Professional Realm

When asked about his passions, Eric’s eyes light up as he talks about his family. “My kids are the highlight. Being a good father and husband is very important to me,” he says. Professionally, his career as an arborist is a significant source of fulfillment. “Working hard and seeing the positive outcome is something I’m passionate about.”

The Unique Arborist Community

Eric holds the arborist community in high regard. “I love that everyone has so much knowledge to share. Getting together with like-minded individuals shows that there is not only one way to climb; it brings out a lot of unique climbing styles and techniques,” he notes. This sense of community and shared learning is something Eric deeply values.

Looking Ahead: Hopes and Plans for the Future

The transition to his new role has been exciting? for Eric. “It’s been a crazy change of pace for sure, but I’m excited to make connections in the industry, start getting around to the trade shows, conferences, and tree climbing competitions. Showing arborists new products I will be working on will be very exciting as well,” he shares.

When asked about his favorite Yale product, Eric doesn’t hesitate. “I really like the XTC 48 line. Safari is one of my favorite ropes for single-line climbing. It has low elongation, runs great in the Rope Runner Pro, and has a good feel on the Rope Wrench and Veritas Prusik,” he says.

With his extensive experience, passion for the industry, and innovative spirit, we are confident that Eric will make significant contributions to our arboriculture market. Welcome!
