This newsletter covers updates from Week 18-24, 2024 + A quick tutorial on how to add site links to your Facebook Ads.
Most important Meta Ads updates
?? Site Links are coming to Facebook Ads. This is a part of a big update that allows you to display additional business and product information on your ads. When available for your ad account, you can now add site links to your ads in the Facebook Feed placement.
??? You can now select 'Instagram profile reels' as a placement for showing your ads. You can find this new placement in the Stories and Reels placements overview.
?? You can now easily compare performance of different campaigns using the newest 'Compare in Chart' feature. You can select multiple campaigns, ad sets or ads and click the new 'Compare in Chart' option. It will open a new panel where you can compare different metrics.
?? Ads targeting update: You can now see and add Detailed Targeting suggestions by Relevance or Size. When you add detailed targeting and click to show suggestions, you will now see 2 new tabs:
- Relevance: This tab shows all suggestions based on relevance to the detailed targeting options you've already selected.
- Size: This tab shows all relevant suggestions based on size of the audience.
??? When selecting specific countries for targeting audiences, you can now choose to 'only include cities' or 'exclude cities'. This update allows you to easily reach audiences inside or outside cities. When selecting to 'only include cities', the number of cities will appear and you will be able to set a specific population range.
? 'Dynamic creative' is going away and is being replaced by the 'Flexible' ad format. Using the 'Flexible' ad format, Meta will choose your ad format, based on where it appears and who sees it to allow for improved performance.

?? You can now schedule individual ads in manual Sales campaigns. Before this update, you could only schedule individual ads in Advantage+ shopping campaigns. Now, this feature is rolling out for Manuals sales campaigns and App promotion campaigns too.
?? Important update for tracking Facebook Ads Custom Events. Meta updated the flow to 'Confirm' or 'Block' custom events. When sending custom events to Meta, you may now see a warning in 'Events Manager Overview' within Business Manager to review your custom events. This alert may read that your custom events can't be used with ads features.
