Meet Patrice Mousseau founder and CEO of Satya Organics. When her eight-month-old daughter was diagnosed with eczema she was given baby topical steroids. Patrice instead went out and bought a $15 crock pot to test what home remedies she could make to help with her daughter's eczema. She developed a formula, created packaging, and took her products to local farmer’s markets in BC where they started to sell quickly. Since then, Patrice’s business has grown so much celebrating milestones such as having her products sold in over 1,100 Shoppers locations across Canada and receiving praise from actress Selma Blair. She is Anishinaabe and a member of Fort William First Nation making her the first Indigenous brand in major retailers such as Shoppers Drug Mart.
