In recent months clients are increasingly contacting us with requests that combine our QP services of ATMPs with our expertise in visual inspection - typically two separated areas of expertise within Eye-Tec.

Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) are medicines that are based on genes, tissues or cells. Our QP projects focus mainly on certification of ATMPs. As commercially available ATMPs are now more and more becoming a reality the question rises not to only oversee the full process of certification of ATMPs as a QP, but also advice and experience is sought on visual inspection of ATMPs. Visual Inspection is our core business. Most cell types used in ATMP manufacturing tend to clog together. Eventually these cell-clumps become visible to the naked eye and form so-called ‘inherent particles’. How to deal with this in either manual or automated Visual Inspection is what our clients are faced with.
