Brakes and Breaks

Hello, it's been a minute!
I want to apologize for taking a rather long hiatus from writing. Next year I promise to share 2 articles every week. I know it sounds impossible but I have designed the right structures to make that happen.
So to end the year I have a rather compelling topic titled "BRAKES and BREAKS".
Introduction
What comes to your mind when you hear the word brakes? You begin to think about cars and every other locomotive machine, you are indeed on track. Brakes exist in machines to give control to the driver. In simple terms it allows us to tame the raw horsepower on our machines. With great power, there exist two possibilities: the first is wisdom to wield the power and the second is the will/ability to tame it.
So...
With human beings as in machines, we often need to apply those brakes by taking a break. I know we have goals set for the coming years and there's a perception to outwork ourselves. We gain a sense of satisfaction or some dopamine hits from the feeling that we worked for long hours. Some people even brag about it; Nothing wrong with that, but you could achieve more through a strategy that requires some rest or breaks occasionally.

Most times success is in the routine and habits, not necessarily the degree of perspiration, even though you have to work really hard sometimes - remember that moment when you unleash the raw power of your car to hit higher miles? but then again you have to occasionally apply your brakes as you make turns.
In essence, rather than long unproductive grinds. You can have breaks to recalibrate and monitor if your activity aligns with your overall goals and plans. Brakes allow a driver to give direction to a car's kinetic energy. If cars could move but did not have brakes, moving left or right would be chaotic at any reasonable speed.
Speed is good, but without brakes or breaks in our case, we are just motivated people without properly defined direction.
As the year winds to a close take some time to pause (take a break) and recalibrate on the things you are currently involved in. Answer your "Why" - why are you doing it? why does it matter?
Don't just do this today, for the rest of the coming year make this a daily habit. You just might be surprised at how much it changes everything!
See you in a bit! Remember to Pause, Reminisce, Restrategize, Recaliberate and Execute!!!
