Braintree's Budget Cliff (2023 Braintree Mayoral Election)
This November the town of Braintree will be faced with a major decision at the top of the ballot.
One choice is four more years of the same leadership which has driven our town finances into disarray precipitating a lowered Bond Rating and uncertainty around the general solvency of the town's budget going forward. A mayor who will not publicly acknowledge the true state of the town's finances, even in the midst of overwhelming testimony to such from the town council.
The other is Erin Joyce, a professional civil engineer, former chair of the planning board, and an actively involved parent of three school age children. Erin often speaks directly to the issues our town is facing and what needs to be done to solve these issues and why proactive leadership and transparency is the way that we will be able to get Braintree back on to positive footing.
If you are a resident or are invested in Braintree's future at all I urge you to watch this video, share this message, and vote for Erin Joyce in the 2023 Braintree Mayoral Election. As she asks in her video, "How can you solve a problem that you won't admit exists?"

John Adams famously noted a simple truth, that "facts are stubborn things". The Town of Braintree is a municipal corporation that must ensure revenues are sufficient to fund priority services and capital planning. Revenue must exceed our expenses if we want to restore and grow our quality of life. We have real challenges that lie ahead, as highlighted in recent budget meetings, but that does not mean we cannot come together to fix them. I'm ready to get to work for Braintree with the skills of a civil engineer and business owner, the compassion of a mother fighting for our children’s future, and the heart of a daughter wanting the best for those who lead before us.
