Brain Zapping?

Maybe it’s all in the name and that needs to change, but the idea of brain zapping doesn’t exactly grab me at first glance.
But apparently it’s a new thing that’s gaining momentum to help improve your memory.
Well, according to?this report?at least that was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal.
To me, there seems other avenues that may work like crosswords or memory games and the like that I recently mentioned.
This is supposed to be non invasive stimulation though.
Maybe I’ve seen too many movies, but the idea of having things hooked up to my brain and sending waves or zapping it or whatever you want to call it to stimulate it to remember more things seems a bit science fictiony.
Cause you can just see some evil character getting a hold of it and brainwashing you with it right?!
Who knows where it goes though.

The currents are supposed to mimic normal neural activity so maybe it’s not too bad after all and just my imagination going too far with it at first thought.
The research was done on people over 65 and look to be serious, if it helps those who may be at risk of dementia or whatever hold onto their memories for longer, or maybe even possibly avoid it all together, then it can only be a good thing.
Just so long as the Dr Evil type characters are kept away from it, I may even be open to the idea myself considering the amount of knocks to the head that I had back in the day playing footy.
What’s your two cents?
Cheers,
Daniel
