The brain controls everything in our world – how we think, move, feel, react, work, and breathe. With the responsibility of so many vital functions resting on our shoulders, via the neck and skull, do we really put in the necessary care our brains deserve?

Our brains need more than food for thought; they need nurturing in many aspects to perform in the most beneficial ways for our success.

During?weekly meetings, incorporate and encourage a few essential tips and exercises to look after the most important organ – the brain.

?

Stimulation?– challenge your brain with mental exercises and new tasks.?Your brain will spark from the break in routine.

?

Exercise?– brains function better when your body is consistently fit, so keep it moving. Incorporate a walk around the building at lunchtime, and invite a colleague. The added social interaction will decrease depression and broaden your scope of life.

?

Nutritious Diet?– feed your body and brain with a healthy mix of proteins, grains, veggies, and fruit. An occasional glass of wine or piece of chocolate couldn’t hurt either.

?

Sleep?– your brain needs sufficient rest to process information. A soothing slumber will leave you feeling recharged and reenergized, so aim for 7 – 8 hours.

?

Learning?– continuous learning helps keep a brain young and the neurons firing. Perhaps study a new language,?s’il vous plait.

?

Relax?– stress hormones decrease when you meditate or incorporate relaxation techniques into your life. Breathe.

?

Read?– stories awaken your imagination and reduce cognitive decline. And fresh ink smells terrific.

?

Digital Detox?– switch off the computers, phones, and TV. Excess screen time depletes the brain and causes exhaustion – unless you want to try your hand at Wordle.
