Teams and executives with knowledge and experience at Twitter? Yes please say the likes of TikTok and Reddit, the biggest recipients of the Twitter talent migration. They are? followed by Snapchat, Meta, Pinterest, Nextdoor and Bumble all of which have welcomed Twitter's talent with open arms. Bottom line, the experience built up by Twitter talent is now available to its competitors, giving them an edge on innovation and product development.?


TikTok picked up site reliability engineers, its Content Vertical Lead in Lifestyle and Education, Head of Product Personalization, and its Head of Global Accounts and Agency Sales Operations.?


Reddit scooped a barrage of Software Engineers and content leads for Mexico, Southeast Asia, Germany and Australia as well as Senior Client Partners for Movies and its head of Strategic Business Development.?


Snap snatched up Product Marketing Managers, Software Engineers, Sr. Content Strategists and Business Marketing Managers.?


Meta acquired a Director of Executive Communications, product designers, Directors of Product Management, and Lead Enterprise Engineers.


Pinterest happily welcomed its new Head of Ads Measurement Product, Sr Strategy Program Manager, EMEA, and SMB Program Manager.?


Netdoor gained its new EMEA Lead for Netwdood Create, along with Senior Software Engineers and Product Manager Revenue.?


Some notable departures included:

  • Thibaut Luckel - Twitter’s Head of Global Customers Solutions Strategy & Operations, now at TikTok.
  • Rachit Maniar - TikTok’s new Financial Planning and Analysis Lead.
  • Sugata Basu - Meta’s new Director of Operations.
  • Brian Ries - Reddits new Global Content Lead..?


It's clear that while Elon Musk may have intended to save money by cutting jobs at Twitter, he inadvertently gifted some of his best talent to his competitors instead. It remains to be seen how this will affect the long-term success of both Twitter and its competitors moving forward but one thing is certain: this brain drain could have far-reaching implications for Twitter in the long run.
