Brain for Business 2017
Brain for Business 2017
I am delighted to be speaking at the next Brain for Business event taking place in Dublin on 8th September, 2017 (seewww.brainforbusiness.ie and @brainforbiz for more information). This will be a great event with super speakers focused on brain, behaviour and business, providing up-to-date lessons for you and your organisation. There are some places still available.
What is Brain for Business about?
The Brain for Business workshops draw out the key lessons of brain and behavioural sciences for business and organisations.
There is now such widespread interest in neuroscience: leadership, motivation, stress, resilience, mindsets and high performance – discoveries in the field of neuroscience will inform developments in these fields and many others for years to come.
A key challenge is ensuring that the complexities of the brain and human behaviour are conveyed clearly, honestly and with actionable learning and impact.
What topics will we be covering?
Brain for Business on 8th September will focus on the following key areas:
1. How the brain works: What you need to know
The brain is the most complex entity in the known universe. We will provide a short introduction to brain plasticity, and ask the question: who’s really in charge of you?
2. Mindsets, Self-talk and Changing Behaviour
Mindsets and self-talk are key to helping individuals control and change their behaviour. We will explore both concepts see how through the application of “deliberate practice” you can achieve more and be more successful.
3. Leadership: Perception, Brand and the Brain
In this session, we will explore ideas of leadership and perceptions of the personal “brand”, and look at how those same mechanisms also apply to brand perception in general.
4. Optimising Performance and Resilience
Almost without exception, humans want to do more, achieve more and be more successful. We will consider how each person can optimise their personal performance and brain hygiene, while also building resilience in the face of the stresses and strains in organisational and every-day life.
Who will be speaking?
Professor Shane O’Mara, Professor of Experimental Brain Research at Trinity College Dublin/Wellcome Trust Senior Investigator
Laurence Knell, Director, Strategic Innovation Partners, and Associate Lecturer on the Open University Business School’s MBA program
Massimiliano (Max) Bianchi, General Manager & Scientific Director Transpharmation Ireland Ltd
Sacha Dekker, Senior Director of Sales Learning at Oracle
