A new tech rule
Our lives are now (almost) completely unimaginable without the usage of technology, save those whose lives are greatly anchored on the old type of radios and bulky televisions in places where internet connections are unavailable or inaccessible due to low-connectivity.
But in major cities, using the tech giants Facebook, Google, Amazon, or Apple is more usual than washing plates after eating. At unsurprising times, wading on the internet is an all-day activity when the person is on a rest day.
Given this massive reliance on technology, people cannot live without it to the extent that they use or transform it as a means to money-making and quickly access the world.
Social media networks are the more dominant techs today. For one to enjoy their advantageous and beneficial features, one must register and make an account. In no time and in a few clicks or taps, the world is within the grasp of hands.
But before taking delight in the techs' different features, in the registration process, there is always a note preceded by a check box that says "I agree with the terms and conditions."
Without checking the box, one cannot proceed with the finishing step of successfully creating an account. By checking the box, it is understood that one has fully read and is expected to follow the rules set as he goes on.
The giant techs can easily issue their own rules and dominate over their rivals. In short, they can just manipulate and gather a power that is designed and sure to build an empire on the internet.
But this will be checked by a new proposal a new tech rule by the European Union or EU. The main purpose of this is to fight disinformation and hate speech, and as well to limit the powers of the tech giants in avoiding abusive control.
The EU provides a list of what should be done and should not be done. And this move could bar tech giants from their considerable control over other connecting businesses, such as Apple's control over app-makers to use its store for certain transactions, specifically payments, cutting the iPhone-producer of a huge amount of profit.
This could also change the behavior of individuals on online platforms. For example, if Tiktok or Youtube is spotted allowing criminal or terrorist content to be uploaded and eventually spread, they could be penalized with an atrocious fine.
Furthermore, the new tech rule will make big platforms accountable if they are seen drawing netizens to bias, sensationalizing, and spreading fake news and threats to society.
Without extensive knowledge of these tech giants and their rules, I personally think that the EU's proposal to regulate them would be the best advancement we can get. It is a pretty advancement to put limitations to the tech giants' increasing power, which grows on a daily.
With the EU's growing concern about the tech giants' supremacy on the internet, what we do here in BPOSeats.com, with our tech, would not be as concerning as theirs. We have the genius tool that aspires to compress and comprise all of the major tasks and areas of business.
