Boyfriend material means that you are someone she can imagine spending lazy weekends with on the couch. Someone who she can picture taking to the grocery store and bringing to holiday dinners — instead of someone who is only around to party with and sleep with. Instead of someone who is clearly only interested in having casual fun.

There is nothing or no one called a perfect boyfriend. Everyone comes with his and her flaws as well as plus points. The factors that make someone acceptable and lovable for you may not matter at all to someone else.

Compatibility, the ability to make you feel loved and precious, his skills in making you smile and all in all, his desire to make sure you feel looked after and secure are all part of the so-called “boyfriend material” ingredients. No one is born with it but it gets acquired depending on how much that boy desires you as a girlfriend too.

Engage yourself socially, find people whom you are able to click with mentally (physical attraction is not the only aspect to be looked into) and see if you picture yourself spending longer time with him than normal. You have your boyfriend on your platter!

Boyfriend material means you are mature enough to handle a real relationship. You are able to have adult conversations and come to compromises instead of whining until you get your way or abandoning her when things get hard.

You are responsible, someone who has her back, someone who she can always rely on.

Boyfriend material means that you are someone she can trust.

Someone who stops flirting the second you enter a relationship.

Someone she never has to worry about coming home late from work without a phone call or texting exes without letting her know.

Someone she believes will be honest and authentic, even when the truth sucks.

You invite her to hang out with your friends as a group instead of telling her you’re too busy to see her that week. You set plans with her in advance instead of using her as a backup plan.

Boyfriend material means that you are someone she can take home to her parents. Someone she doesn’t have to lecture in the car before walking inside so you remember that you can’t drink in front of them and you can’t curse in front of them and you can’t be yourself in front of them.

Someone that her parents will love, or grow to love, just the way you are because you are a genuinely good guy who clearly cares for their daughter.

Boyfriend material means that you make her feel.

You can make her pulse race with a kiss.

You can make her laugh hard from some stupid joke.

And you can soothe her back into a relaxed state when she cries. You have a strong connection, the kind that can’t be forced.

Boyfriend material means that she doesn’t have to put on a mask to impress you. She can be herself without worrying about what you think.

She can wear her sweatpants and spill salsa all over her lap and you will still like her. Little things aren’t going to change your opinion of her because your feelings for her are more than superficial.

It means that you are working towards the same milestone.

 It means that, even though you have different personalities, you have similar mindsets.

Boyfriend material means that she really likes you and is confident you like her too. It means that she can imagine a future with you. A future that might last forever. 

First off, boyfriend is more than just a friend and a mutual understanding that an intimate (not just sex) relationship will be just the two of you.

Second, material is just a matter of several factors (what you want in a man) combined into one…think of a blanket…each color representing a characteristic you want in your life then when weaved together makes it whole.

So boyfriend material is what you want in a man plus his mature and mutual understanding that this will be a monogamous relationship.

A husband has openly, publicly, pledged with his actions, to spend his life, with a particular woman.

A boyfriend may say a bunch of words that no one else hears, but in reality has promised, and pledged nothing.

Statistically, a boyfriend relationship will last on average, about 3 years. Whereas a husband will for the most part spend the rest of his life with someone.

Legally, a wife has protections under the law, when married. A girlfriend has zero protection, and will end up completely on their own, if anything happens.

I’ve even seen where a husband passed away, and the girlfriend, that he had been living with for over 15 years, go zero, while the estranged wife, that the husband was still married too, got the house, the car, everything.

A husband is a moral, legal, and religiously affirmed real relationship.

A boyfriend… is basically nothing. A boy…. that’s a friend. That’s what “boy…. friend….” means.

Boyfriend makes promises to you, some don't.

Husband fulfils his promises, many don't!

Boyfriend stays secretly.

Husband stays publicly.

Boyfriend loves you in makeup and heels.

Husband loves you the way you are.

Boyfriend fights frequently.

Husband fights respectfully.

Boyfriend says “I really really love you".

Husband proves it without telling a word.
