'Box-Sets & Scrubs & Toilet Rolls!'
Back in 1977 Ian Dury and the Blockheads sang about, 'Sex n Drugs n Rock and Roll' and it was new, outrageous and caused people to either nod in agreement or shake their heads in disappointment and disgust. In current times we are all experiencing and witnessing something that is having a similar effect and equally polarising. It feels like Ian Dury's lyrics have morphed into, 'Box-Sets n Scrubs n Toilet Rolls' . We are watching televised fights in supermarkets and pharmacies over toilet paper, face masks and aspirin. While some of us look on thinking how could people be so crazy, others are thinking better get out there and grab some too while there is still something left!
While you are self-isolating don't get too anxious about not having enough soap or sanitizer and that your life is turning into a toilet paper treasure hunt! You don't need a garage full of everything, just enough to get by and let others have access to some too.
If you hoard anything it should be the time you've got available to explore new things! On your own or with your loved ones. Read a classic, play a marathon Monopoly game, watch 'Casablanca' or learn something online together or whatever you like. There will be a time when someone asks, 'So how did you spend your time during the great global self-isolation?' How will you respond? Never waste a crisis to improve your relationships or learn something new. So start here and see where it takes you...https://www.coursera.org/ Stay Safe, Stay Positive, Help Others!
