Bow to the Empress of Michigan
When is physical dominance of a wealthy politician over a kneeling female a good way to encourage ideas of equality and to raise the self-image of young women and girls?
Below is a composite image taken from two cells of an Instagram message sent out by 'feministabulous' - reportedly an Instagram 'influencer'.
The persona, like in a superhero persona, was created and operated by a Canadian MSNBC Newscaster.
The image depicts Liz Plank kneeling in a submissive position to Governor Whitmer of Michigan who feeds Doritos to her. The response from the receiver is one of apparent joy and is filled with expressions of what appears to be elation about the flavor of the fried corn chip.
Reportedly some religious groups have taken offense at it. But that's been about it.
Nothing further appears about the positioning, the behavior and the fact that the sitting Governor of Michigan, which is a state reeling from unemployment and corruption that the citizens no longer trust the State Government.
The image of a young woman kneeling to Governor Whitmer in exaltation should be a concern to adults in the United States. This is especially so because Michigan, during NFL events, the Auto Show and most other conventions and business gatherings has been identified as a center of sex trafficking of adults and minors. Notices are sent out before the largest events to people in the southeastern region to help curtail (not stop) this horrible exploitation that ends in cases of sexual abuse, predation, exploitation, reported rapes and even murder.
It is especially notable that this 'influencer' is Canadian from which country many of those exploited for these crimes are imported.
Two consenting adults, of course, can do what they want in private, but, here we have a series of images (this was a video) that indicate that the subjugation of younger, smaller women, by larger, more powerful female politicians is a laughing matter. What is that communicating to the millions of women and girls, and, of course, millions of men and boys about respect, kindness and political power? For some it is communicating a disjointed and ugly scene and for others the confirmation of what they have been led to believe which is that bigger and more powerful people can dominate those who are smaller and less powerful and laugh about it.
If we add in the facts that in Michigan there are two parties, but each one controls a different portion of the State politically, while splitting the 'take' from fees, taxes and bills then there is a concern that this stunt has been conceived and performed to take away the attention of the very real corruption going on in the state and making light of the tragedies and sorrows that are overflowing here.
In the case of the toxic materials from the East Palestine, Ohio disaster, for instance, apparently Governor Whitmer knew the materials were coming but didn't tell anyone.

In another instance of the abuse of power, or the very real possibility that the Governor is paying more attention to kneeling young women than these dangers, thousands of tons of toxic, radioactive waste are flowing into Michigan from New York State and Ohio. Again - local leaders and residents didn't know about this very personal attack until a newspaper printed the story. She didn't even inform other federal and state representatives.
Just these two problems are very serious.
If we add in the billions for lead service line replacements, which are designed to remove lead poisoning from homes (known for more than a century) where the state received the money from the Federal Government, kept silent until asked about it and then attempted to force local municipalities to draw on it only through loans - what do we call that?
What are we looking at when we view this photo is one thing but what are we looking at when the State of Michigan spends billions of dollars building roads, rail lines, power lines, plumbing, lighting and other services and infrastructure for a battery maker from the People's Republic of China while bridges crumble, road 'fixing' goes on for years without progress, sewage systems overflow, the waters become more polluted - not less, the Governor attempts to restart a damaged nuclear reactor with almost two billon borrowed from the Federal Government - while not dealing with ageing and decaying containment vessels filled with nuclear waste from when the place was shut down - not to mention the fact that the container vessel itself is brittle. As another item of concern consider the monies expended to assist in reconstructing the Detroit Rail Terminal into a playground filled with empty offices intended to set the world on fire with new 'apps' - while local public transport is underfunded, confused and virtually useless in a community of 2.5 million people. I'll stop here otherwise I would need to talk about the agricultural ills, the Michigan Department of the Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE - pronounced EggLee), the failing grades of elementary and high school students and the Michigan Cancer Epidemic.
I could go on - but in a state where there is no discernible opponent or countering set of ideals against what has become a hegemony it is disturbing to see the Governor presented as an Empress standing in a commanding fashion over a young woman in a sparsely furnished apartment.
Is anyone else paying attention to what is going on in Michigan politics?
