Bourbon & Barbeque in Louisville

I got the call on a Sunday. My friend Grace Fitzmorris & I hadn't spoken in quite some time. She was working on a brand new ?BBL “Bourbon Barbeque Louisville” event that was consuming her time and I was on my way to Nashville for the upcoming IndyCar race weekend.

Grace was talking to me about her event and chatting through some of her needs as the early pre-planning stage had rolled on to the much more intense planning, promotion & design phase. Her event is in November which is a time where our team has a bit of a lighter lift on our schedule. Based on what she described, it was only natural that we consider joining her in order to provide support and an actual team that she could lean on and delegate to. Our Clandestine team of five were all available to be queued up (see what I did there?) to support Grace as she makes her vision for a sophisticated yet FUN soiree at Waterfront Park in Louisville, KY, a reality. She also talked about her needs online - rolling out the website to include information about their distillers & ?pitmasters, setting up the ticketing, and getting the word out through social media. To which I said "do I have the group for you...". I immediately connected Grace with my partners in crime at Prevailing Path and within a WEEK they had a functioning website up and running.

After Nashville, we rolled right over to Louisville and spent a few days surveying the park and meeting with some of the locals that we will be working with. Everyone that we have come in contact with is enthusiastic and incredibly generous with their time. We've met so many amazing people after just one visit to the Louisville. Catie from Waterfront Park; Cara who owns the recently opened B&B, The Butcher Rose; The Night Mayor, Mike Maloney; The guys atAgainst the Grain Brewery and Smokehouse, Andrew Ott & Pitmaster Kyle McCoy; Chef Rocco, who busted my chops mercilessly when we came by for dinner at Roc; and our dinner guests, Lianne & Matty B. who JUST relocated from NYC to Louisville to open Pig Beach. Suffice it to say, I have a bit of a crush on Louisville - not gonna lie.

This first visit to Louisville with Grace really sealed the deal for our team. We are a small team of truly hard workers - match that with an event that will be as fun and delicious as a bourbon & barbeque party under the stars in the Fall, and it's a recipe for perfection. We can't wait to knock this thing out of the park - in order to ensure there are many more Bourbon & Barbeque’s to come in the lovely city of Louisville.
