Bouncing Back?

Introduction
This comes to you from the lounge of the Irish Ferries, Oscar Wilde, which is currently transporting me across the Irish Sea.? Dedication to duty, as I am still hard at work on BG Racing whilst heading off on holiday!
In truth, I am a bit late with this.? Bella Cavalla’s race impacted on my normal communications schedule and then the job slipped whilst I was trying to clear the decks (pun intended as I am on a ferry!) ahead of our holiday.
All is going well with both horses (under the circumstances) though – more details below.
Bella Cavalla
So Bella Cavalla ran (if you can call it that) at Ludlow on 24th April but things did not go the way we hoped.? She was tailed off and pulled up after only a mile in what was a massively disappointing experience.
We did however find an issue post-race that our trainer, Neil Mulholland, confirmed looked bad enough to be a reason for her poor run.? The vet visited and gave her some treatment and thankfully the issue does not appear serious.
Bella has not been lame and has continued to exercise and I visited her at the stables earlier this week.
Neil and I looked for suitable races for her and identified three races during the week commencing 13th May.? If all progresses to plan until then, she will receive entries for these and she will run wherever we can get her into one of the races.
Obviously, we cannot be certain that the issue was the cause of the bad run, so we need to get her into another race and see whether we get a better result.? The aim is to run her hopefully twice more before the end of June, so that we can take a view on whether to keep her racing for another year.
Stryder
Stryder continues to progress really well and hopefully his niggles are now behind him.? Our trainer, Michael Attwater is very happy with how he is working on the gallops.
It would appear that we are closing in on trying to build upon his good 2nd last time with another run.? He has been off for some time, so may need a run to get back to full sharpness, but here’s hoping that we get a clear passage through to August now.

There are two race options for Styrder the week commencing 13th May at Windsor and Bath.? The plan will be to run in one of these races if all goes well until then.

Winners From Our?Stables
Neil Mulholland had a winner on Sunday 15th April and it could have been more with all six of his runners going close in their races.? Transmission stayed on really well to get to the front and win his race leading home a 1-2 for the stable with Broomfields Cave behind him.
Neil had another winner on Friday 19th April when Mini Mildred followed up her previous race win in December with another win at Bath and had good runs all around on the 24th with one painful exception as our Bella Cavalla ran a terrible race and pulled up at Ludlow.
Hell Hound put his debut run behind him to win his race at a big price at Ludlow and at Uttoxeter, Blue Las provided Neil with a double on the day as she won her 2nd consecutive race.
Neil finished the jumps season in style on Saturday 27th when Ike Sport delivered a cracking run and an impressive win at Sandown.
