Strange Things Afoot at The Circle K
It’s been a while since I have done one of these things. It’s not that I ran out of material. I basically fell off the face of the earth due to illness, life events, and self-doubt. Just for fun, I was trying to think of a good comeback topic and I went to my old Google Trends for some fun. My favorite trending topic was that 50,000 people searched about “40 monkeys escaping somewhere in South Carolina”. I have no idea what’s going on there, but I am very intrigued. If anyone has information on these monkeys, then I’d like to hear about it.?
It seems as if my 30-day challenge took off great, but then got derailed. One cannot predict the events that have happened over the last 3 weeks. Life got real lifey and I have now figured out that basically, shit happens. Just like in Forrest Gump. Then I was reminded of my early days in recovery that I needed to reflect and take an inventory. Take a break, relax, and find some balance. The last one was forced upon me by a friend and former paramour. She sucks and is right a lot and it pisses me off. Especially since it worked.?
When was the last time you took an inventory? The world is a weird place right now. The wage gap is increasing, inflation is nutso, technology is scary, people’s mental health is waning, and the election was annoying. That’s a recipe for disaster if you let it go unnoticed. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all just stop paying attention to the news and social media and just have some pie? I think that’s where I am at. Trying to reduce the noise is tough to do. Hence the inventory, and simplifying of life.?
Start here:?????
It’s a simple yet effective exercise that guides you in the right direction. It can be applied to anything. Life problems, financial issues, career trajectory, or just your overall health. Find out where you stand. Between all of the calamity and chaos of windows breaking, illness, and general disarray I lost my mind. This is how somebody can use the big book to return to one’s roots. The holidays are coming up make sure that the stressful times ahead don’t get you off your game. Take some time to reflect and enjoy yourself. Maybe have like 8 pieces of cake and a few pumpkin spice whatever.?
Cronuts! Are those still a thing? I hope so. Let’s hope the monkeys are okay.?
