The Bottled Water Industry’s Dirty Little Secret Is Draining Your Bank Account. Here’s How To Stop This Absurd Leak!

Let me start with the punch line (the math) for those of you who only have a couple of minutes today so I can instantly save you $. Here's how to pay 7,018 LESS for drinking water, legally, not to mention feel great, quit contributing to plastic pollution and send me a picture from some exotic vacation you finally could afford because you stopped spending it on bottled water. ;)

LET'S LOOK AT THE COSTS OF BOTTLED WATER VS. TAP WATER PASSED THROUGH REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM VS. GASOLINE, TO COMPARE AND GIVE YOU SOME HEALTHY PERSPECTIVE SO YOU CAN SAVE $$$!

Estimated costs for the next 15 years

Under-The-Sink RO System: $297-$467 (one time cost this may vary slightly based on system)

Promo Code for Linkedin Friends: $ 20 OFF = $277

Replacement filters for 15 years: $108x2=$216

The system comes with the first set of filters already. No need to service for 3-5 years depending on how much water you use and the quality of the water in your area (city or well)

Total: $493/15y/365d = 9¢ <------------per day of unlimited water for drinking & cooking.

Let's add all of the Extras:

Estimated $60 shipping on the west coast (ask me directly and I'll check exactly costs)

$50 remineralization cartridge x7 (over 15 years, these are replaced every 6-8 months and are only installed on request - optional)= $350

Total including the above:

$493+40+350= 16¢ <-----------------------per day cost

Let's say you want to hire a plumber even though these are easy to install by yourself: $50-$200 (I'm calculating at $200 but most plumbers charge $60-$100)

Total: 19¢ <-------------------------------per day cost

50 Gallons Per Day of Healthy, Pure, Alkaline water (with remineralization cartridge, installed by a pro the water will be at around 8-9 Alkalinity)

Sip on this for a moment:

19¢ per 50 gal of FreePurity Reverse Osmosis tap water daily vs. $132.50 for 50 gal of Gasoline (Bottled water 10x more expensive than gas) vs. $1333.50 For 50 gal or bottled water ( calculated for 12 oz bottles, that's 7k times more than RO water)

It is mind boggling how much people pay for water that's virtually free in their kitchen that just needs to be purified. They rather pay a water company like Nestle to purify it for them in the same way FreePurity Purifier does, bottle and resell for 7,018 times the cost they would have to pay if they did it themselves. No need. Here's the link to grab a purifier and start saving today!

Have you ever wondered what's growing the $190B bottled water industry? Let me share what I've learned, show you what matters to our health, how to test your water for quality & purity, how to save a ton of money for the purest water on earth, and show you with math where the insane costs of bottled water come from...you won't believe it!.

I took the time (save yourself weeks of investigating by simply reading this post) to do this crazy research and calculate the costs for you to compare the prices between gasoline, reverse osmosis treated water, and the bottled water...

Read below, decide for yourself, I'd love for you to comment, share your thoughts, tell us what type of water purification methods you are currently using, or the brand of bottled water you love to drink, so we can start an informed dialogue that may save a few of you some money, time, sanity, and above all improve our health. It's time to stop collectively "invest" into the pharma industry which is lurking around the corner waiting for the water industry to get us sick enough to need meds. There are many illnesses brought on by the chemicals, bacteria, metals, poisons and pesticides consumed by us over the years. On top of it there are too many children and people still dying from contaminated waters...let's change that together!.

It's time to stop the vicious cycle and gain back control over our health, especially with the uncertain future of healthcare in our country.

The bottled water industry was valued at USD 185 billion in 2015 and is expected to reach USD 334 billion by 2022, growing at an 8.5% CAGR during the forecast period 2017-2022.

This post was inspired by someone sharing a video post with me on FB yesterday testing pH levels of many bottled water brands and simply determining which bottled water was the most acidic. Knowing what I know about water contamination and purification methods, I got compelled to add to the conversation as acidity is important but not the most crucial factor to worry about.

The fact is, we are all getting ripped off. The fact is, we all know that, but not many of you may know by how much and what to do about it or that there are even simple, cost effective solutions that actually work, and it's time to stop it!

I'm going to help you keep hundreds if not thousands of dollars in your pocket over the years with a few simple facts, a little bit of math to prove my point (real math with the current numbers) and a simple, easy and immediate fix that will not only give you an access to an unlimited amount of delicious, pure water but help you "pay it forward" by having your purchase help get water purifiers to those that need it the most.

Ready? Alright!

It has been known that acidic environment is a breeding ground for cancers, chronic intestinal problems, allergies, and of course deaths. We've been fed this information for generations, were taught to fear tap water as the biggest evil (Thanks to Nestle and Pepsi CMOs) and have heard enough buzzwords like "alkaline diets, alkaline lifestyles, alkaline foods, low in acid" to take it as facts, trust our favorite water brands (based on the brand credibility and social perception)...and as expected, the water industry after planting enough fear, has shadowed and guided us straight to their extremely tech savvy, expensive purification products, creating enough chaos and confusion to lure you into buying purifiers that do everything but purify your water at cost.

Doesn't this sounds like the demand created for the iPhone and other products? Don't get me wrong, I love Apple and have been their user since the early 90s but the iPhone is one of the worst products Apple has ever created and the most expensive relatively speaking. I have had all of the models and they are all TERRIBLE! iPhone tries to do everything but make a good quality phone call that actually doesn't drop or produce static at nearly $1,000 <-----Whaaaaat?!. And yet I keep buying them, you keep buying them right? Why? Because they have developed enough brand trust and loyalty that in return we offer our money, patience, tolerance for expensive garbage and hope...hope that this brand which defined what quality of great design is, will step up. And they use it against us...because we let them.

Unfortunately we're not talking about electronics here, we are talking about our health. It's not OK to keep doing what we've always done, like buying questionable quality, or contaminated, overpriced bottled water or trust a company that criticizes tap water to then find out that 47.8% of bottled water they distribute is tap water ,and not all of those waters are even filtered or purified....What?! Yes...that is a fact. You tell me if it's not time to change this and revolutionize how we drink something we can't survive without.

Let's move on:

Alkaline environment (ph levels 7+) promotes a healthy homeostasis but pH is not the only factor to consider, there's something even more important that you need to focus on and that's a TDS levels in water - A Total Dissolved Solids are measured at parts per million (PPM). The higher the number, the worse it is for us. Why does this number matter? TDS detects EVERYTHING in your water that's in it besides the water molecules. The lower the amount of organic and inorganic impurities, metals and poisons, the better for us and most of the time this means lower acidity and most likely higher alkalinity.

You might say: "But Marzena, I've heard that Reverse Osmosis isn't ideal, it also removes good minerals like calcium, magnesium or potassium and our body needs those" To that I say: "RO leaves traces of these in the water, and from the scientific research, it's been concluded that majority of the alkaline molecules are taken from food. What affects our body's pH more is the rest of the "junk" we consume such as sodas, coffees, teas, alcohol and simply not hydrating enough with pure, healthy water.

The fact is, Reverse Osmosis removes 92-99.9% of impurities including healthy minerals leaving traces of these minerals in the water as that's what it's designed to do. Because of that, the water tastes delicious, never flat, and I personally think it tastes like Fiji water. Reverse Osmosis water also keeps the pH at 7.2 after it purifies your tap water (anything above 7 is alkaline) so to think RO water is not alkaline enough is misleading and false. To think you need the water to be 9 or 10 or even higher alkalinity (which is what the expensive purifiers sell for ($2,500+) is incorrect as well. It won't hurt you to drink overly alkaline or ionic water but most likely it won't do much for you either to justify the costs.

Keep in mind this fact as well: Your body must keep your blood alkalinity at 7.4 at all times, no matter what, the closer you are to that number with everything you consume the better and the less your body has to work at getting you there (this might mean wasting minerals in your cells to metabolize and process to keep that healthy balance). What varies is the alkalinity of your cells where the metabolization happens, this is the reason why you have to look at the total acid intake not think of just your water.

Best way to keep your body at a healthy alkalinity is to stay away from sodas with pH of 3, and if you drink a lot of alcohol, coffee and teas, on top of consuming highly acidic foods daily, worrying about drinking an expensive, highly alkaline water might not be your biggest problem ;) what you eat and drink beyond water might need a better balance.

For some of you who strongly believe that you should consume highly alkaline water and don't believe that purified water with lemon is enough (FYI, purified water with lemon is enough as lemon turns alkaline in the body and has pH of 10) we will convert our 4 stage Reverse Osmosis purifiers into 5-stage by adding a remineralization cartridge ($50 cost ) which adds EXTRA calcium, potassium and magnesium. The added remineralization cartridge takes the TDS levels from standard RO which is 0-35+/- to 35-60+/-. This increases the overall water alkalinity from 7.2 to around 9-10. Even with installing these cartridges, you are still at only 9-19¢/Day total costs for purified tap water ;).

I've been working in the water purification industry for the past 4 years, with a team that has lead the distribution of Reverse Osmosis components and systems on a global scale for over 40 years. Our industrial and commercial clients are entire countries, sewer companies, medical labs, hospitals, military branches, manufacturing companies, small business owners and a distribution sector all over the world. Now my personal focus is solely on the residential / commercial side and purifiers that either serve the entire house or easily fit under-the-sink and can be installed in your home's kitchen, office kitchens, gardens and come with standard 3 gallon tanks but there are several sizes that we offer. For the interior designers, realtors and builders, we offer custom spout and faucet accessories.

The concept behind FreePurity.com was to create a self sustaining, social impact brand and a marketplace that offers top quality products, where supporters buy to raise funds to join us in contributing to clean water pojects that help communities in need in US or abroad, especially orphanages that are underfunded to get access to pure, delicious, healthy drinking water or other life sustaining resources in a more scalable, sustainable way. Just recently we have installed 14 purifiers at 14 different orphanages.

FreePurity as a brand, aims to support other social impact brands that are involved in contributing to community projects, get involved in humanitarian efforts and invest in products, projects and people to make this world a better place. I'm at a point in my life where time and what I invest my efforts into, matters to me and it's important to match my value system with those I work and partner with to create a greater purpose, common goals, and equal desire to change the world for the better. Join me!

What if I told you that if you're not purifying water with Reverse Osmosis, you are most likely spending 7,018x more on drinking water than purified water, and 10x more than you pay for the same amount of gas. What's sad is I did the math and these are the real stats based on the gas prices and bottled water prices today. If this shocks you, let's connect and I will show you how you can drink purified water that is healthy for you at 19¢ max and that's with the extra remineralization cartridge.

LITTLE HISTORY:

40 years ago the Nestle and Pepsi were asked to grow a nationwide demand and a new market for bottled water after recognizing the growing market and profits made by Perrier Water. There are quotes stated by their CMOs (mentioned in another post I wrote on Linkedin) saying that by the time they're done with tap water (and the perception of its quality), it will only be reserved for washing dishes, yet they use it in their own bottles to then resell at 7,018k times the price and you happily pay for it. Why? When you can have it virtually free from your own tap? Grab a glass bottle, fill it up with a RO water or get one of the LifeSaver bottles to purify water while traveling or hiking.

Let's get few things out of the way:

1. PLASTIC LEACHING, CONTAMINATION & HOW TO TEST

Best way to control the quality of your water and to avoid any plastic leaching into your bottle over time whether it is due to damage, heat or prolonged storage before it gets sold or worse yet, a direct contamination, is to make it on-demand and on-the-go. There are many option, I only sell the best and most reliable products from social impact type companies like LifeSaver water bottle with a purification system inside the bottle which will filter any water you got access to from random, unreliable water sources such as streams, rivers, seas, oceans, runoffs, rain, tap. LifeSaver and I share our core values and the company and its CEO have responded to so many humanitarian disasters around the world that I was very moved when they accepted me as their distributor and partner.

You will never know what's in a plastic bottled water, can't control the quality and distribution but what you can control is what you buy and it's in your best interest to exercise your powers as a consumer. By the time that water gets to you, who knows how long it sat in that bottle, under what condition and statistically 47.8% of bottled waters are "purified" waters which means they used Reverse Osmosis to purify them. Why would you pay not just a higher price but an unreasonable price of 7,018 times more than if you purified it at home when you can have your own RO system (I sell them) and make an unlimited amount of pure drinking and cooking water for max 19¢

EPA vs. FDA

The water companies have regional and local distribution, part of the reason is to avoid being under the regulations of EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) which imposes about 100 tests on city water companies in 1 month time. This way they can be under FDA which isn't as strict and doesn't have enough agents to monitor multibillion dollar companies therefore they can get away with a lot more (This is how we hear about e coli or other contaminations found in bottled water by independent agencies and this way by the time the word gets out that there was a contamination, they have ample time to pull it off the shelves if something gets reported.

To always be sure you know the quality of your drinking water, I strongly recommend carrying a TDS meter. If you have a Reverse Osmosis, a TDS meter will help you determine when it's time to replace your filters and your membrane without the need to do it before you have to. FreePurity is not into ripping customers off with "continuity programs" which recommend you replace filters every 6-12 months. The only reason why you would have to do that is if the product is of a lesser quality including the filters and membranes. FreePurity system does not require frequent service or filter replacements if you install it correctly. With the typical household use (unless you're using it for your garden or have some other unusual volume needs) FreePurity 4-Stage Residential Reverse Osmosis Purifier should last 3-5 years maintenance free. Isn't that fantastic? We build these custom for our resellers and distributors, now you can access the same, high quality purifier at wholesale prices, contributing to clean water projects so your dollars can make a difference.

25% From All of the FreePurity.com sales gets invested into clean water projects in US, humanitarian relief abroad and installations of purifiers at orphanages in various countries. Join us!

2. IMPURITIES & CONTAMINANTS

There are many water sources and contaminants...95 major ones such as lead, asbestos, chlorine etc...TDS helps you measure the Total Dissolved Solids in the water (everything but the water molecules) and helps you decide WHEN to change filters in systems like reverse osmosis. I sell these because they are the best and more cost effective solution to purify water and I have access to the lowest wholesale prices from the top manufacturers in the country. Let me know if you need a hook up.

3. pH vs. ALKALINITY vs. TDS

These are 3 different things, only make sense to worry about alkalinity and pH if you removed the cancer causing metals, bacteria, minerals, pesticides and chemicals found in any source of water from tap to natural springs.

The higher the TDS (TOTAL DISSOLVED SOLIDS) number the worse is your water. I sell a TDS meter that should read between 0-30 without a remineralization filter and 30-60 with a remineralization filter.

You should never drink tap water without passing it through a Reverse Osmosis System (unless your city provides Reverse Osmosis purified water) because of lead, chlorine, fluoride and over 90+ contaminates that are inside the deteriorating pipes such as asbestos and picked up on the way to your faucet. Most bacteria is killed with chlorine but it's a poison for humans and it takes about 2-3 hours for it to naturally evaporate from your drinking water when exposed to oxygen. The water will have a healthy pH balance about 7.2 after you run it through RO so don’t worry about the RO.

pH means: "power of hydrogen" - the negative base 10 logarithm of the molar concentration of hydrogen ions. This is a measure of acidity, your blood pH is at 7.4, your cells pH level can vary....RO water is at 7.2, almost the same as your blood which is ideal.

ALKALINE means: a measure of the capacity of water or any solution to neutralize or “buffer” acids. This measure of acid-neutralizing capacity is important in figuring out how “buffered” the water is against sudden changes in pH.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN SUMMARY

Your body (no matter what you do) will work hard to keep your internal pH and alkalinity of your blood and cells at 7.4. Mostly food but also the extra liquids you consume such as coffee, tea, milk etc...tend to be more acidic, best way to offset that is to drink LOTS of RO water that is remineralized and with added Lemon throughout the day plus choose alkaline food as much as possible and you're set.

The deal with all of these fancy bottled waters or systems is this: they overpromise and underdeliver. You need to remove junk from your water on call, to always have it fresh and only when you need it, for an affordable price. If you get a high quality US made components from the top manufacturers in the country, you shouldn't have to replace filters for 3-5 years unless you use more water than expected or access water from your own well. Only the remineralization cartridge needs to be replaced every 6-8 months depending on how much you use and that's only an extra $50.

Through FreePurity.com, I sell RO systems that everyone should consider (nothing less, nothing more than what you need and no continuity schemes of needing to replace filters every 6-12 months or service the unit. Our unit has the highest quality of components that last) and 25% from the sales goes to clean water projects and installations at orphanages, my goal is to grow this brand to be able to contribute 50% from sales and create a self sustaining company so I don't have to beg for donations to help communities in need in US and abroad that are without clean drinking water.

Great video to watch: https://abc7.com/health/alkaline-water-has-no-proven-benefits-expert-says/1457637/

There's no reason or need to pay top dollars for expensive bottled water. The RO water is delicious, healthy with a great pH balance and alkalinity. Unless you want to pay 7,018 times more for water, it's time to set that money aside for better things in life like healthy, organic food, travel and activities that promote less stress.
