The Bosses I met

The Bosses I met

The Armour Boss

He would take a bullet for you when the going gets tough. If you are in the right, he will fight to get your view across. And if you are wrong, he will give you an earful but only after he has swooped in to save you from the vultures.

If you are in client service, he would be a boon. Ritesh Ghosal

 The Dispassionate Boss

This person will be fair to a fault. Sometimes you might wish she was a little more partial (towards you ofcourse) or would cut you a little extra slack. But no, that won’t happen. And when you start wondering if she appreciates you at all, she will do something wonderful in a very matter-of-fact way.

They prepare you for relationships. Seriously. Dolly Jha

 The X-Ray Boss

Even outside Hogwarts, there exist wizards. And some of them are bosses. He will figure that you are worrying even if you are playing it rather cool. Then he will pin you down, make you accept your concerns, and deal with your problems. And yes, you can’t learn to bluff him with practice.

Very dangerous, I must say. Shishir Varma

 The Gym Boss

No, you won’t get to find her in leotards, but making you sweat she does. You will bring to her something you think is brilliant and in five mins she will find mistakes that you can’t spot even with a magnifying glass. These people don’t get any worse with age or failing eyesight.

If only I could say all the workout did not help. Shonali Ghosh

 The CCTV Boss

When The Police wrote ‘Every breath you take…” they surely had him in mind. He keeps a watchful eye on you while in office. At out-of-office parties, he knows how many drinks you had, whom you danced with, and exactly when you left….even if he wasn’t present himself.

And I thought only mothers have this gift.

The Safety Net Boss

This person lets you be even though they know you might get into trouble. And sometimes you might even get them into trouble. But they will take that risk and put you on the paraglider but not before teaching you to fly and also packing in a trusty parachute.

It's tough to be mad with them, not always a great thing. Vijay Udasi Soumya Mohanty

The Teflon Boss

Any blame slides right off him, like that of a non-stick pan. He does not commit to anything without coming across as non-committal. He will not get involved in anything but if something ever goes wrong, he will magically appear as the saviour.

This is so aspirational sometimes.

The Martyr Boss

This one will take on all the pain of the company (and the world) and hold it in her heart. She works on all holidays, through the nights, while running a fever. She limps to work after an accident when things go wrong…takes a deep sigh and says, “It’s ok, I will fix it”.

Much ashamed to admit, I was this mess for a while. Sorry Punit Mittal Tarun Saxena
