Borrowed Earth

As a child,

I never ventured into the wild.

I still did see lot greenery,

That made a wonderful scenery.

Bath was with a bucket and a mug,

In winter, follow with a thick blanket to tug.

Summer was not as hot,

Play started at mid-afternoon on the dot.

A different now is earth,

Places with water dearth.

Seasons are more severe,

Summers have temperature to fear.

Winters are cold very,

And not easy to make throughout merry.

Is a word right, "sustain"

What exactly does it tell the brain?

Is it only sufficient to maintain,

Or do we need a higher value attain?

Do we not need word another?

To protect us and future generations on our earth mother.

1. "Borrowed Earth" is an idea taken from the proverb "We don't inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." I do not know the origin of the proverb.
2. "Sustainability" as a word makes "me" believe that we are just wanting to do enough and a low aim given that results can be less than what we set out to achieve. Hence an ask for a word that enforces that we go beyond the minimum for survival.
3. The 1% principle is as follows. 0.99 raised to 365 is approximately 0.02 and 1.01 raised to 365 is approximately 37, a small delta of 0.02 over a year leading to a factor of approximately 1480. What is our 0.02 that we should aim for green principles.
4. Do read up the 1% principle for it has an exponential benefit starting with a very small delta. I do not know the origin of the principle as well.
5. We only have one mother earth.
