It Will Be Born...
So...for those of you who don't like birth stories, you can stop reading right now. You know who you are (and I know who some of you are)...save yourselves and cease from reading the rest of this post.
Are you gone yet? (sound of feet shuffling out of the room...door closes)...okay good.
I will continue.
There is nothing like the few minutes before your first child will be born. It is so new, so tense, so amazing and so overwhelming (at least from what was my vantage point).
As the contractions were raging, my wife was breathing and sweating, the doctor comes walking in. We look down...there...together and there is a little tuft of hair on the top of the baby's head peaking out of a hole about the size of a quarter. He says, "Beautiful, she is ready to come out at any moment..."
I stepped away from my wife, and pulled the doctor aside and said..."Doc, I know you been doing this a long time, but it doesn't look like it is coming out of that place...ever! Is there a plan B...an alternate exit...?!?!"
I stepped back up, held my beautiful wife's hand and she said...."Is she coming soon...?"...I looked with whatever confidence I could muster and said..."uh huh"...it was not convincing.
Then came the pushing...then came the expertise of the medical professionals...the coaching and encouraging...and then came a whole lot of the miraculous....and what seemed impossible is 22 years old and beautiful today...and three more have been born the same way. (I know I am a lucky man.)
So, when it looks like it will not be born...a new business...a turn around... a healing...a whatever....have faith...put your shoulder to the wheel, add the right amount of expertise...and count on the miraculous.
It will be born.
